\t\t<\/p>\n Aaron Tveit<\/strong><\/a> will be back on Broadway this fall in a revival of the classic musical Chess<\/em><\/strong> and he\u2019s teasing the new approach they\u2019re taking with this production.<\/p>\n Chess<\/em>, which features music by ABBA<\/strong>\u2019s Benny Andersson<\/strong> and Bj\u00f6rn Ulvaeus<\/strong> and EGOT winner Tim Rice<\/strong>, is the iconic musical where power and passion collide, and the stakes couldn\u2019t be higher. It\u2019s America versus Russia at the World Chess Championship, where the espionage and romance are as complicated and exhilarating as the game itself. For the two players and the woman torn between them, everything\u2014personal, professional, and political\u2014is at risk\u2026 and nobody\u2019s rules are the same.<\/p>\n Aaron<\/strong> is starring opposite Lea Michele<\/strong><\/a> and Nicholas Christopher<\/strong><\/a> in the musical, which begins performances on October 15.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s being presented as almost a concert evening,\u201d Aaron<\/strong> told Entertainment Weekly<\/a><\/em>. \u201cThere\u2019s real book scenes and everything, but it\u2019s in the sense that we are all players putting forward this piece and everyone can come and go out of scenes. A lot of people are going to be on stage at the same time. They\u2019re trying to set up the political era between 1979 and 1983 and focus on the geopolitical tensions between Russia and the U.S. The music is so amazing, and if it was only that, I would say, come sit in the seats because you\u2019re going to have a great night. But hopefully we\u2019ll pull this little magic trick where we\u2019re also talking about things politically that holds a mirror up to our society today.\u201d <\/p>\n \n
