ABC News 5 Cleveland<\/a>, Ed revealed that the tight end got down on one knee a little earlier than the public announcement.<\/p>\n\u201cTravis actually did the proposal, oh, maybe two weeks, not quite two weeks ago. He was going to put it off \u2018til this week,\u201d Ed said.<\/p>\n
According to him, Travis originally had big plans to stage an elaborate event. \u201cHe was going to make some grand thing, to make it a big special event,\u201d he explained. But Ed offered a piece of fatherly advice. \u201cAnd I told him repeatedly, you know, you could do it on the side of the road, do it any place that makes it a special event.\u201d<\/p>\n
Though Ed didn\u2019t give the exact date, he recalled being at a Philadelphia Eagles public practice when he got the call from the couple. The team most recently hosted a public practice on Sunday, August 10.<\/p>\n
Where and How Did the Proposal Happen?<\/h2>\n
Ed went on to share that the engagement took place at a garden in Lee\u2019s Summit, Missouri.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe got her out there, they were about to go out to dinner, and he said, \u2018Let\u2019s go out and have a glass of wine,\u2019 \u2026 they got out there, and that\u2019s when he asked her, and it was beautiful,\u201d Ed revealed. \u201cThey started FaceTiming me and their mother and her folks to make sure everybody knew. So, to see them together is great.\u201d<\/p>\n
Ed also admitted he had been expecting the proposal for quite some time. \u201cThat\u2019s when it became obvious they were just crazy about each other,\u201d he said, referring to last year\u2019s NFL season.<\/p>\n
And when Ed asked Travis recently when the world would find out, his son made it clear who had the final say: \u201cHe said, \u2018Whenever Taylor says so.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
