Taylor Swift<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s engagement to Travis Kelce<\/strong><\/a> has been cause for celebration over the last 24 hours \u2014 and perhaps even more so given her past feelings about marriage.<\/p>\n

Back in 2019, when Swift, 35, released her seventh studio album, Lover<\/em><\/a>, the pop star included highly personal diary entries dating back to when she was 13 in deluxe editions of the record.<\/p>\n

One journal entry<\/a>, in particular, has resurfaced and is striking a chord with Swifties in light of her joyous engagement news<\/a> on Tuesday, August 26.<\/p>\n

\u201cI somehow feel like it\u2019s my destiny to roll my eyes at happy couples and resent Valentine\u2019s Day,\u201d the singer wrote in a diary entry dated March 17, 2009, when she was 19.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tTaylor Swift previously expressed her desire to get married before announcing her engagement to Travis Kelce. In a 2012 cover interview with Cosmopolitan, Swift, now 35, revealed that she wants to tie the knot and have children one day. \u201cBeing a mom full-time, doing everything for my kids, having a bunch of them,\u201d she said, [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Swift wrote at the time, \u201cI also feel like I\u2019m the girl before \u2018the one.\u2019 I\u2019m not the \u2018the one.\u2019 I\u2019m the girl you think is the one for you, and when it doesn\u2019t work out with me, you meet the next girl and realize she IS the one. The one you\u2019re gonna stay with.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI might get married. But I think it\u2019s ultimately my fate to light candles and pine away and roll my eyes at happy couples and resent Valentine\u2019s Day,\u201d Swift concluded.<\/p>\n

Of course, the Grammy-winning pop star has found her own happy ending with Kelce, also 35, with whom she announced her engagement on Tuesday after two years of dating.<\/p>\n

The couple shared a carousel of images from the moment Kelce proposed to Swift<\/a> at a garden in Lee\u2019s Summit, Missouri, earlier this month. They captioned the joint Instagram post, \u201cYour English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.\u201d<\/p>\n
