Calah Jackson<\/strong><\/a> learned firsthand that not every cowboy is ready for his cowgirl, especially when it comes to her ex-boyfriend Steven McBee Jr<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s very different being in the relationship vs. being out,\u201d Calah exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> earlier this month while promoting season 2 of The McBee Dynasty: Real American Cowboys<\/em><\/a>, confirming that she and Steven broke up while filming.<\/p>\n She later confessed, \u201cI think I lost a lot of myself in that relationship.\u201d Watching the season back, she added, she\u2019s seen the red flags she missed while dating the McBee Farm & Cattle CEO.<\/p>\n Calah \u2014 who began dating the eldest McBee son in 2021 after meeting him on Joe Millionaire: For Richer or Poorer<\/em> \u2014 noted, \u201cMaybe it\u2019s a good thing that I\u2019m able to watch it back on TV, because it really is just so eye-opening for me. I\u2019m like, \u2018Oh, why did I put up with this?\u2019 Or, like, \u2018I cannot believe I reacted that way to this.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n During the current season of the Bravo series, fans saw Steven take his brother Cole McBee<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s side during a blowout fight with Calah in the Ozarks. The argument served as the catalyst for Calah and Steven to break up \u2014 which Steven exclusively told Us<\/em> in July<\/a> was the \u201c15th or 16th\u201d time they\u2019d done so.<\/p>\n Although Steven did reach back out to Calah \u2014 and invited her to his brother Jesse McBee<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s wedding, which took place in fall 2024 \u2014 Calah said they are not back together.<\/p>\n \u201cI did see Steven a couple months ago for press day in L.A., and that was probably the first time I\u2019d seen him in a while,\u201d she explained to Us<\/em>, noting the period before that run-in was\u00a0the \u201clongest\u201d they had \u201cever gone without seeing each other.\u201d<\/p>\n Calah recalled the photo shoot being OK. \u201cIt was fine. It was cordial. I mean, we showed up and we did press and we didn\u2019t kill each other,\u201d she said with a laugh.<\/p>\n While Calah teased that fans will see her \u201cteeter-tottering\u201d with Steven to end the season, she is confident that her life in Missouri, which is where Steven and his brothers\u2019 family farm is located<\/a>, is done.<\/p>\n \u201cI did love the farm life. People don\u2019t think I did, but I\u2019ve truly loved [it], and I really felt like that was my home and I made it my home,\u201d she confessed. \u201cSo, that\u2019s the one thing I miss.\u201d<\/p>\n Calah made it clear that she doesn\u2019t miss \u201cthe drama or the pressure of the antics\u201d she witnessed while living on and off with Steven.<\/p>\n \u201cI\u2019m very, very happy back [in Dallas] and I will never be moving back to Missouri again. That\u2019s for sure,\u201d she declared, adding that being in Texas post-split has given her the chance to find herself.<\/p>\n She explained, \u201cI\u2019ve been focusing on myself and just trying to get back to a really good mental place. And honestly, I\u2019m, like, the happiest I\u2019ve been in a really long time. It was a good relationship for a long time, until it wasn\u2019t. I learned a lot of lessons.
