\t\t<\/p>\n Kumail Nanjiani<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about his Marvel<\/strong><\/a> contract. <\/p>\n The 47-year-old actor signed on to join the MCU with Eternals<\/strong><\/a><\/em> being his first project, where he played Kingo. <\/p>\n Since then, he has only appeared one other time \u2013 in an episode of What If\u2026?<\/em> \u2013 and he is now revealing more details about what he originally signed on for before Eternals<\/em> was a box office flop and the future of the characters in the franchise was put on the back burner. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI talked about how I was in this big movie. It came out right after COVID, so I had a year and a half at home to just be like, \u2018Oh, when this thing comes out!\u2019\u201d he said on Mike Bibriglia<\/strong>\u2018s Working It Out<\/em> podcast<\/a> about his new stand-up special. \u201cBut then it came out and it got really bad reviews and it didn\u2019t do that well. It shattered me too much. That\u2019s when I was like, \u2018Oh I need to go to therapy to figure this out.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n He then explained how he thought he would be involved in the MCU much more. <\/p>\n \u201cI was like, \u2018Oh, this is going to be my job for the next 10 years,\u2019\u201d Kumail<\/strong> shared. \u201cI signed on for six movies. I signed on for a video game. I signed on for a theme park ride. They make you sign up for all this stuff. And you\u2019re like, \u2018This is the next 10 years of my life, so I\u2019ll be doing Marvel movies every year and, in between, I\u2019ll do my own little things, whatever I want to do.\u2019 And then none of that happened.\u201d<\/p>\n Salma Hayek<\/strong><\/a>, who played Ajak in Eternals, also previously revealed she signed on for a multi-film deal<\/a> with Marvel.<\/p>\n Back in August 2022, one of Kumail<\/strong>\u2018s co-stars in the movie, Patton Oswalt<\/strong><\/a>, hinted that a sequel to the movie was in development<\/a>, but of course that has not come to fruition as Marvel changed up their output plans. <\/p>\n <\/span><\/p><\/div>\n
