This post contains spoilers for Fast X<\/em>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Forever part of the family. Paul Walker<\/a> died in 2013, but Vin Diesel<\/strong><\/a> and the rest of the Fast and the Furious<\/em> crew have continued to pay tribute<\/a> to him in The Fast Saga<\/em>.<\/p>\n The late Varsity Blues<\/em> actor died in a car accident at age 40 while production on Furious 7<\/em> was still underway. Rather than have his character, Brian O\u2019Conner, die in the film as well, Diesel, 55, and the film\u2019s other producers decided to have Brian simply retire from street racing.<\/p>\n \u201cWe stopped filming Furious 7<\/em> for about five months because we were wrapping our heads around what we were going to do, while mourning,\u201d the XXX<\/em> star told E! News<\/em> in June 2021. \u201cAnd the studio accepted a bold decision, which was to allow the character to exist in our mythology.\u201d<\/p>\n At the end of the 2015 film, Brian gave up his life of high-speed crime-fighting to spend time with his pregnant wife, Mia (Jordana Brewster<\/strong><\/a>), and their son, Jack. In 2021\u2019s F9<\/em>, Mia explained Brian\u2019s absence by telling the crew that he was at home babysitting their kids. At the end of the movie, the group left an empty seat for him at the dinner table, and a car \u2014 seemingly driven by Brian \u2014 was shown pulling up to the house at the last minute.<\/p>\n Brian\u2019s life at home is still running smoothly in Fast X<\/em><\/a>, which hit theaters on Friday, May 19. While there is no new footage of the character, the movie incorporates flashbacks from 2011\u2019s Fast Five<\/em> that feature Brian.<\/p>\n \u201cYou will see Brian in the past, you won\u2019t see Brian in the present,\u201d director Louis Leterrier<\/strong> told Total Film<\/em> ahead of the film\u2019s release. \u201cIt\u2019s something that everybody has to be on board with. The Walker family is still very much a part of this franchise, you\u2019ll see how in this movie. It just has to be the right moment, the right tone.\u201d<\/p>\n The late star\u2019s brothers, Cody Walker<\/strong> and Caleb Walker<\/strong>, filled in for him in some Furious 7<\/em> scenes, but they did not return for Fast X<\/em>. There\u2019s still a family connection, however \u2014\u00a0Paul\u2019s daughter, Meadow Walker<\/strong><\/a>, has a cameo in the movie<\/a> as a flight attendant who waits on Jakob (John Cena<\/strong><\/a>).<\/p>\n The model, 24, has maintained a close relationship with Diesel and her father\u2019s other costars since his passing. When Meadow \u2014 whom Paul shared with ex Rebecca Soteros<\/strong> \u2014 married Louis Thornton-Allan<\/strong> in October 2021, the Guardians of the Galaxy<\/em> star walked her down the aisle<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201c[Meadow] counts Vin and his kids as family and will talk to them on days she\u2019s struggling, and she has their backs too,\u201d an insider exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in June 2021. \u201cPaul\u2019s spirit and love definitely shines on through Meadow, and she believes he\u2019s looking down and protecting her from heaven.\u201d<\/p>\n Diesel, for his part, has been open about his close relationship with Meadow over the years. \u201cShe\u2019s the first person on Father\u2019s Day to wish me Happy Father\u2019s Day,\u201d the California native told Extra<\/em> in June 2021. \u201cTo see her with my children is one of the most beautiful things.
