This story isn\u2019t about averting the end of the world \u2014 it\u2019s about the way the characters face that end when there is no other option. The Earth is doomed, and there\u2019s nothing that can change that.<\/p>\n<p>In the film, Melancholia is the name given to a rogue planet that comes dangerously close to Earth. Once the two planets collide, everyone on Earth will die in an instant. That\u2019s the kind of bad news most of the population simply can\u2019t take. The sheer despair that Dunst conveys in Justine\u2019s every movement and gesture is amazing. This Colombian original series does have an English language dub, but if you\u2019re okay with reading subtitles, then the Spanish language track is the best way to go. Delirium tells a non-linear story about a woman [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>When the end of the world is near, Justine is more than a little unhinged. But so is everyone else around her. The interesting thing about Justine and her sister, Claire (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/stylish\/pictures\/get-a-sneak-peek-of-charlotte-gainsbourg-for-nars-w476114\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Charlotte Gainsbourg<\/strong><\/a>), is the way they face the end. There\u2019s a certainty to Justine\u2019s response that Claire just doesn\u2019t have. Claire\u2019s husband, John (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usmagazine.com\/celebrities\/kiefer-sutherland\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Kiefer Sutherland<\/strong><\/a>), reacts as if this crisis can be survived. So while we won\u2019t recap the specific details, it\u2019s enough to know that Justine and Claire face the end together. There\u2019s something beautiful and tragic about the way that the sisters only have each other, and even that isn\u2019t enough.<\/p>\n<p>This isn\u2019t the kind of movie that fills viewers with hope, but it <em>is<\/em> thought-provoking and memorable in ways that few films ever achieve. Having said that, you may want to avoid <em>Melancholia<\/em> if you\u2019re feeling depressed.
