Ozzy Osbourne<\/strong><\/a> was aware he was near the end of his life when he took part in his final Black Sabbath performance<\/a>, according to his friend Tom Morello.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Morello, who worked on Black Sabbath\u2019s Back to the Beginning<\/em> farewell gig in Birmingham on July 5, told Chicago\u2019s Q101 radio station<\/a> recently that Osbourne was \u201cfrail\u201d for a while in the lead up to his death. (Osbourne died on July 22 at age 76 following a battle with Parkinson\u2019s Disease.)<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fact he lived to play and feel that love one more time, to do \u2018Paranoid\u2019, to do \u2018Crazy Train\u2019. If you have got to go \u2014 and I wish Ozzy lived another 30 years \u2014 if you\u2019ve got to go out\u2026 it felt like he knew,\u201d Morello said on the radio show.<\/p>\n

While the musical director described Osbourne\u2019s death<\/a> as \u201ctragic,\u201d he noted, \u201cOzzy Osbourne had lived on the edge for such a long time, the fact he lived as long as he did was a miracle.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tOzzy Osbourne\u2019s Black Sabbath bandmate Tony Iommi is sharing his memories of the late rocker. Osbourne died at age 76 on Tuesday, July 22, following a battle with Parkinson\u2019s disease. Just weeks before his death, he reunited with Iommi, Bill Ward and Geezer Butler for one final Black Sabbath concert at Villa Park stadium in [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Morello reflected that Osbourne\u2019s death still came as a shock to him despite his wild lifestyle and recent health issues.<\/a><\/p>\n

\u201cHe had been frail for a while, but friends of mine saw him a week later. He was at another event in Birmingham a week later,\u201d he said. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t on his deathbed. He was just sort of living his life. It was a terrible and tragic surprise.\u201d<\/p>\n

Osbourne died just weeks after his final on-stage performance as part of Black Sabbath.\u00a0 His cause of death<\/a> was cardiac arrest, acute myocardial infarction, coronary artery disease and Parkinson\u2019s disease, according to a death certificate obtained by The U.K.\u2019s The Sun.<\/em><\/p>\n

The rocker was survived by his wife Sharon<\/strong>, who he had been married since 1982 and their children: Aimee<\/strong>, 41, Kelly<\/strong>, 40, and son Jack,<\/strong> 39. The singer also shared daughter Jessica,<\/strong> 51, and son Louis<\/strong>, 49, with ex-wife Thelma Riley<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning,\u201d Osbourne\u2019s family said in a statement shared with Us Weekly<\/em> at the time. \u201cHe was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family\u2019s privacy at this time.\u201d<\/p>\n
