\t\t<\/p>\n Cooper Hoffman<\/strong><\/a> is opening up about navigating his career without his late father Philip Seymour Hoffman<\/strong><\/a>. <\/p>\n The 22-year-old Old Guy<\/em> actor looked back on admiring his father\u2019s work and wishing he was able to get advice from him. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cHe\u2019s my favorite actor, but he\u2019s also my dad,\u201d he told GQ<\/a><\/em>. \u201cHe\u2019s also not here. A lot of people idolize their parents because they\u2019re great parents. It\u2019s a different thing to idolize your parent because you love their art.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI get to figure this out on my own,\u201d Cooper<\/strong> added of his own career. \u201cBut also, I would love his advice. And I would also just love my dad.\u201d<\/p>\n Earlier this year, the young actor made his Off Broadway debut in Curse of the Starving Class<\/em>, and he recalls feeling directionless during his prep. <\/p>\n \u201cI was like, I\u2019m so ill-prepared for this,\u201d he said. \u201cThe only person I really wanted to talk to was my dad.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cAs much as I would love him to be here and talk to him about acting, I also would be terrified to have him see my stuff and judge my stuff,\u201d Cooper<\/strong> shared. \u201cNot that he would judge it, because he was a very empathetic person, and he would probably \u2014 hopefully \u2014 hold my hand through all of it.\u201d<\/p>\n Cooper<\/strong> has also previously appeared in Licorice Pizza<\/em>, Wildcat<\/em> and Saturday Night<\/em>, plus he has several projects in the works, including Artificial<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, the upcoming movie about Elon Musk<\/strong><\/a> and OpenAI with Andrew Garfield<\/strong><\/a> and Ike Barinholtz<\/strong><\/a>.
