\t\t<\/p>\n Tristan Rogers<\/strong><\/a> has sadly passed away.<\/p>\n The Australian actor, best known for playing Robert Scorpio on General Hospital<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, died on Friday (August 15) at the age of 79. His passing comes less than a month after he revealed that he was battling lung cancer<\/a>.<\/p>\n Tristan<\/strong>\u2018s longtime manager Meryl Soodak<\/strong> confirmed his passing in a statement to ABC 7 Eyewitness News<\/a><\/em>, sharing that his role on General Hospital<\/em> \u201cmeant everything to him.\u201d<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cHe loved being Scorpio and he created that role from nothing,\u201d his manager continued. \u201cHe was supposed to work a day and he ended up making it into something huge. He was just a genuinely loyal, kind human being and he loved his family.\u201d <\/p>\n Shortly after news of Tristan<\/strong>\u2018s passing was announced, General Hospital<\/em> Executive Producer Frank Valentini<\/strong> shared a statement remembering the late actor.<\/p>\n \u201cThe entire General Hospital<\/em> family is heartbroken to hear of Tristan Rogers\u2019 passing. Tristan has captivated our fans for 45 years and Port Charles will not be the same without him (or Robert Scorpio),\u201d Frank<\/strong> shared with People<\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n \u201cI would like to extend my deepest sympathies to his family and friends during this difficult time,\u201d he continued. \u201cTristan was a one-of-a-kind talent and will be greatly missed. May he rest in peace.\u201d <\/p>\n Tristan<\/strong> first joined General Hospital<\/em> back in 1980 and has appeared on and off the show for over four decades.
