One of the biggest shocks was the death of Alicia Daniels Lafayette, played by Lynn<\/strong>. Alicia\u2019s death was the final twist in a long line of twists and turns in Alicia\u2019s journey to learn the truth of what happened to her son. <\/p>\n The 72-year-old actress that played the role of Alicia on The Chi<\/em> recently spoke to The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> about her character\u2019s demise on the show and how it came as a surprise to her, just like to the viewers! <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n According to Lynn<\/strong>\u2018s interview with THR<\/em>, she didn\u2019t know that Alicia\u2019s death was coming until she got a script for an episode \u201cmid-season, maybe the fifth episode or so.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cIt was really an interesting journey for me,\u201d Lynn<\/strong> said. \u201cBecause so often I am playing that strong character that finds a way [and] that learns a lesson. And I honestly felt there was a possibility for [Alicia] to learn something, particularly with her grandson coming.\u201d <\/p>\n According to Lynn<\/strong>, Alicia dying wasn\u2019t the only surprise.<\/p>\n \u201cWe didn\u2019t know until the last episode who was going to do it.
