Dermot Mulroney<\/strong><\/a> was all laughs when asked about conducting any threesome research ahead of filming for Netflix\u2019s new series, Hunting Wives<\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cOh, you\u2019re naughty! That\u2019s the right kind of question,\u201d Mulroney, 61, replied to Page Six<\/em><\/a> in an interview published on Sunday, August 10, before clarifying that, no, he didn\u2019t do any so-called \u201cresearch.\u201d<\/p>\n Mulroney gushed over the fan response of the eight-part series, which has been No. 1 on Netflix. \u201cIt\u2019s brought so much joy to people already. So fun to be a part of,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n \u201cI think maybe we haven\u2019t had, like, campy sizzle for a little while,\u201d he continued. \u201cThe show just really caught people right in the funny bone, and you know, whatever other bones you want to mention.\u201d<\/p>\n The Hunting Wives<\/em> is based on May Cobb<\/strong>\u2019s book of the same name, following Sophie (Brittany Snow<\/strong>) after her move from Boston to an East Texas town. Sophie falls into the orbit of socialite Margo (Malin \u00c5kerman<\/strong>), where there\u2019s guns, drinking, murder and an undeniable chemistry between the pair. Mulroney, meanwhile, plays wealthy oil tycoon Jed Banks \u2014 and Margo\u2019s politically aspirational but far-from-conventional husband.<\/p>\n Despite being an adaptation, Hunting Wives<\/em> took some liberties<\/a> with the plot points onscreen.<\/p>\n \u201c[Creator] Rebecca [Cutter]<\/strong> and May Cobb have a really great relationship. They\u2019ve been talking a lot and May was kind of like, \u2018Go for it,\u2019\u201d \u00c5kerman, 47, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in July about the TV changes. \u201cShe was on set and was really elated to see her characters come to life and really loved the direction that Rebecca went in with the characters and the changes.\u201d<\/p>\n \u00c5kerman noted that the cast was pleased to receive the author\u2019s \u201cstamp of approval\u201d<\/a> when it came to the show.<\/p>\n
