But it\u2019s believed that the first recipes appeared in 13th-century cookbooks (<a href=\"https:\/\/spoonuniversity.com\/lifestyle\/hummus-a-brief-history-on-the-origin-of\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">source<\/a>). <em>Hummus<\/em> is an Arabic word that simply means \u201cchickpeas.\u201d And chickpeas have been grown in the Middle East and India for thousands of years. <\/p>\n<p>Hummus bi tahini (often referred to simply as \u201chummus\u201d) is made with chickpeas, tahini, garlic, and lemon. It\u2019s a common dish in Turkish, Lebanese, Syrian, and Egyptian cuisine, among others. And it\u2019s gained popularity throughout the world. Our green goddess version keeps the traditional ingredients and adds herbs for fresh, zesty flavor! <\/p>\n<h2 id=\"h-how-to-make-green-goddess-hummus\">How to Make Green Goddess Hummus<\/h2>\n<p>Firstly, our green goddess hummus needs\u2026GREEN! After some trial and error, we determined the best method is to blend the fresh herbs with the other liquid ingredients (lemon juice, olive oil, and water). Then we add them to the blender with tahini for classic richness.
