I feel proud that I\u2019ve done it for myself, and sometimes in spite of them,\u201d he said to Variety<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n About landing his first movie role, he said, \u201cI didn\u2019t get my dad\u2019s agent to call up so-and-so. I did it by myself. I didn\u2019t want to give anyone an excuse to be able to say that anything I\u2019ve achieved has been because of anyone other than me. And I\u2019m proud of that.\u201d <\/p>\n He dropped out of Columbia University after one semester, adding, \u201cMy parents were upset. It totally scared them, which is understandable. I wasn\u2019t happy at the time because I couldn\u2019t dedicate everything in me to acting.
