There were hurtful things that he kind of said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At one point, \u201cI was working on a house for him,\u201d Brooke went on. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cOne of the contractors witnessed an interaction between me and my dad. He texted me \u2014 the contractor texted me \u2014 and said, \u2018Are you okay, kid? He didn\u2019t want one,\u201d Brooke wrote as a caption on Instagram this week, explaining her decision and adding:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAnd although I know people grieve in many ways \u2013 and I\u2019m so grateful for all celebrations and events organized to honor him, as his daughter, I had to make my own decision to honor him the best and most genuine way I knew how\u2026privately\u2026the way that made me feel the closest to him\u2026<\/p>\n<p>\u201cDaddy, we honored you in the simplest way that agreed with my soul.
