Eddie Murphy<\/a>, his co-star in the upcoming film The Pickup, who left him hanging when it came to dishing out any parenting advice. <\/p>\n\nHe added: \u201cEddie was like, \u2018I got no advice for you. Because you\u2019re on your own\u2019. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cHe was like, \u2018You can\u2019t tell anyone how to (be a parent.) You know, you\u2019re gonna do your own thing.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPete and Elsie made their first public appearance as a couple since announcing their pregnancy on 16 July, walking the red carpet together last week. <\/p>\n
\nElsie wore a fitted black dress showing her baby bump, while Pete appeared in a brown Sergio Tacchini tracksuit.<\/p>\n
\nA source told Us Weekly in July while the pregnancy had not been planned, the couple were \u201cover the moon\u201d and \u201cso excited\u201d. <\/p>\n
\nThe insider added: \u201cPete and Elsie have a really playful relationship, and things are going really well.<\/p>\n
\n\u201cIt\u2019s a healthy relationship for Pete. Pete has always wanted to be a dad and thinks the timing in his life is perfect. He couldn\u2019t have done it a few years ago but is in a very different place in life now.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nSpeaking to Entertainment Tonight in July, Pete said: \u201cIt\u2019s been my dream forever since I was a little kid. The baby\u2019s mother is one of my favorite people to ever exist ever.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nHe added Elsie was \u201cgoing to be a great mom\u201d and said: \u201cI hope to be a, you know, the dad I hoped that I would have.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nPete was seven years old when his father, Scott Davidson, died in the 11 September 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center in New York City. <\/p>\n
\nIn a 2020 interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Pete said he wanted to raise a child so he could \u201cbe there for something or do something that I didn\u2019t have growing up\u201d.<\/p>\n
\nTwo years later, in an appearance on Kevin Hart\u2019s Hart to Heart, Pete said: \u201cI\u2019m definitely a family guy. My favourite thing ever, which I have yet to achieve, I wanna have a kid. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cThat\u2019s like, my dream. It\u2019s like, super corny, (but) it would be so fun. <\/p>\n
\n\u201cDress up the little dude\u2026 I\u2019m so excited for that chapter. That\u2019s kind of what I\u2019m just preparing for now, is just trying to be as good as a dude, develop and get better so when that happens it\u2019s just easier.\u201d<\/p>\n
