Kevin Federline<\/strong><\/a> is pulling back the curtain on his life before, during and after his marriage to Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> in a new memoir coming out this fall.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis book is extremely intimate and transparent,\u201d Federline, 47, said in a press release on Wednesday, August 6, of his upcoming release, You Thought You Knew.<\/em><\/p>\n

He hinted that the book will touch upon his and Spears\u2019 time together<\/a>, saying, \u201cI achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence.\u201d<\/p>\n

Spears, 41, threw some subtle shade at Federline, now 45, taking his rap career \u201cso seriously\u201d in her upcoming The Woman in Me memoir, a source confirms to Us Weekly. \u201cBless his heart,\u201d [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

You Thought You Knew<\/em> promises to highlight Federline\u2019s \u201cfame, fatherhood and the private cost of public life \u2014 from one of pop culture\u2019s most misunderstood figures,\u201d according to the press release.<\/p>\n

The memoir will discuss Federline\u2019s start in entertainment as a dancer for pop stars like Pink<\/strong>, Destiny\u2019s Child and Michael Jackson<\/strong> and how his \u201chighly publicized marriage \u2014 and eventual divorce\u201d from Spears, 43, \u201cchanged everything,\u201d per the press release. The October 12 release will mark the first time that Federline has given fans an inside look at his life, including his relationship with Spears, to whom he was married from 2004 to 2007<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Federline was thrust into the limelight when he married Spears just months after meeting the Grammy winner at a club. The pair tied the knot that October and soon started a family. Spears and Federline welcomed their eldest son, Sean Preston<\/a>, in September 2005 followed by son Jayden in September 2006.<\/p>\n

Two months after Jayden\u2019s birth<\/a>, Spears filed for divorce in November 2006. Their divorce was finalized in July 2007, but their ups and downs didn\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n

The former couple \u2014 who tied the knot in 2004 and share sons Sean Preston and Jayden \u2014 have gone from feuding exes to supportive coparents. Federline praised his ex-wife for seeking mental health treatment amid her father [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Over the past nearly two decades, Spears and Federline have feuded over custody and how to coparent<\/a> their two sons, which Federline will seemingly discuss in his memoir.<\/p>\n

The publisher revealed in Wednesday\u2019s press release that the book will document \u201cthe painful reality of raising children under a microscope\u201d that Federline allegedly experienced \u201call while trying to hold his family together.\u201d<\/p>\n

The memoir will also feature Federline\u2019s experience trying to \u201cnavigate\u201d the \u201cweight of public opinion\u201d following his and Spears\u2019 divorce<\/a> as well as \u201clasting emotional consequences of that spotlight,\u201d per the press release.<\/p>\n

Spears\u2019 struggles with conservatorship, which affected her relationship with her kids, will also be discussed, according to the publisher. (Spears was under a 13-year conservatorship<\/a>, during which her personal and financial affairs were run by her father and other people, after she publicly struggled with her and Federline\u2019s divorce. The conservatorship ended in November 2021.)<\/p>\n
