Apple plans to increase its commitment to U.S. manufacturing, according to a White House official cited and first reported by Reuters.\u00a0<\/a><\/p>\n The tech giant is set to announce Wednesday another $100 billion<\/a> in spending to help boost production of its products here in the U.S., after previously committing to invest $500 billion in the country over the next four years. The $500 billion commitment<\/a> includes opening a new advanced manufacturing facility in Houston to produce servers that support Apple Intelligence, producing Apple TV+ productions in 20 U.S. states, and working with U.S. suppliers.<\/p>\n The news comes as President Trump has threatened the iPhone maker with tariffs<\/a> unless it moves more of its manufacturing from Asia to the United States.\u00a0<\/p>\n Apple, which mainly manufactures its devices in India, China, and Vietnam, has already been affected by tariffs.
