Megan Fox<\/strong><\/a> revealed she\u2019s struggled with body dysmorphia from a very young age.<\/p>\n \u201cI don\u2019t ever see myself the way other people see me,\u201d the Transformers star, 37, said in a cover story interview for Sports Illustrated<\/em><\/a>\u2019s 2023 swimsuit edition \u2014 as she is one of this year\u2019s four cover stars<\/a> alongside Martha Stewart<\/strong><\/a>, Kim Petras<\/strong> and Brooks Nader<\/strong>. \u201cThere is never a point in my life where I loved my body, never, ever.\u201d<\/p>\n Fox went on to add that she had an \u201cawareness\u201d of her body ever since she was a little girl, causing her to obsess over fitting a certain body image<\/a>. \u201cIt definitely wasn\u2019t environmental because I grew up in a very religious environment where bodies weren\u2019t even, like, acknowledged,\u201d she stated in a video shared via the publication\u2019s YouTube<\/a> page on Monday, May 15. \u201cThe journey of, like, loving myself is gonna be never-ending, I think.\u201d<\/p>\n The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles<\/em> star previously spoke out about her body dysmorphia struggles<\/a>. \u201cI have a lot of deep insecurities,\u201d she told British GQ Style<\/em><\/a> in an October 2021 joint interview with then-boyfriend Machine Gun Kelly<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n She continued: \u201cI think I had either put myself in, or allowed other people to put me in, this weird box that didn\u2019t quite fit me, where I hadn\u2019t lived my own life as myself for a really long time \u2014 the parts of me that were always eccentric or strange and didn\u2019t belong within my own family unit or within Hollywood.\u201d<\/p>\n Fox\u2019s career skyrocketed with the 2009 horor-comedy Jennifer\u2019s Body<\/em>, in which she plays a high school teen who goes on a killing spree after being possessed by a demon. Years later, the actress \u2014 who shares sons<\/a> Noah, 10, Bodhi, 9, and Journey, 6, with her ex-husband, Brian Austin Green<\/strong><\/a> \u2014 revealed that the newfound attention the film brought her made for a \u201cvery dark\u201d time in her life<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cI think I had a genuine psychological breakdown where I wanted just nothing to do,\u201d Fox told Entertainment Tonight<\/em><\/a> in September 2019. \u201cI didn\u2019t want to be seen, I didn\u2019t want to have to take a photo, do a magazine, walk a carpet, I didn\u2019t want to be seen in public at all because the fear, and the belief, and the absolute certainty that I was going to be mocked, or spat at, or someone was going to yell at me, or people would stone me or savage me for just being out.\u201d<\/p>\n In addition to being sexualized by \u201cevery producer\u201d she worked with, the New Girl<\/em><\/a> alum noted that she felt excluded from the entertainment industry\u2019s feminist community, even during the height of the #MeToo movement in 2017.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat is supporting other females<\/a> if there is only certain ones of us we support?\u201d she added at the time. \u201cIf I have to be an academic or have to be non-threatening to you in some way? Why can\u2019t I be a part of the group as well?\u201d<\/p>\n Becoming pregnan<\/a>t was the \u201cfirst real breakthrough\u201d that helped her overcome those feelings. \u201cMy mind opened up and I was able to see from a birds-eye view and breath and take it in,\u201d Fox continued. \u201cAnd then another kid, and then another kid and with every kid I feel like that\u2019s always been the doorway into a better version of myself.\u201d<\/p>\n Fox and Green, 49, tied the knot in 2010<\/a> and welcomed their first child, Noah, two years later. One year after the Confessions of a Teenage Drama Queen<\/em> star gave birth to son Bodhi in 2014, she and the Beverly Hills, 90210<\/em><\/a> alum called it quits<\/a> after 11 years together. The two reconciled<\/a> amid news of Fox\u2019 third pregnancy in 2016, though the split again four years later<\/a> and finalized their divorce<\/a> in February 2022.<\/p>\n Fox went on to get engaged<\/a> to Machine Gun Kelly (real name Colson Barker) in January 2022.
