Family drama? Britney Spears<\/strong><\/a> isn\u2019t on the best terms with her two sons, a new documentary alleges.<\/p>\n TMZ producer Katie Hayes<\/strong> weighed in on the pop star\u2019s ups and downs with 17-year-old son Preston<\/a> and 16-year-old son Jayden<\/a> in the documentary TMZ Investigates: Britney Spears: The Price of Freedom<\/em>, which aired on FOX Monday, May 15. \u201cBy the end of the summer [2022], tensions got so bad that the boys weren\u2019t even responding to her texts. And she was furious,\u201d Hayes claimed.<\/p>\n The producer also alleged that the \u201cToxic\u201d songstress, 41, hasn\u2019t seen her sons in \u201cwell over a year.\u201d Despite the lack of face time, TMZ\u2019s Charles Latibeaudiere<\/strong> claimed that the singer has had some communication with her children<\/a>. \u201cRecently, there have been occasional texts between Britney and her kids, so, maybe the ice is thawing a bit,\u201d he alleged. Us Weekly<\/em> has reached out to Spears\u2019 rep and lawyer for comment.<\/p>\n Spears\u2019 rocky relationship with the teenagers \u2014 whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline<\/strong> <\/a>\u2014 came to a head in August 2022 when Jayden publicly criticized her parenting skills.<\/p>\n \u201cI think mom has struggled giving us both attention and showing us equal love,\u201d Jayden told the Daily Mail<\/em><\/a> at the time. \u201cI don\u2019t think she showed enough to Preston, and I feel really bad for that.\u201d<\/p>\n Spears\u2019 youngest son added that he harbored \u201cno hate\u201d toward his mom. \u201cI 100 percent think this can be fixed,\u201d he said. \u201cIt\u2019s just going to take a lot of time and effort. I just want her to get better mentally. When she gets better, I really want to see her again.\u201d<\/p>\n Preston and Jayden did not attend<\/a> Spears\u2019 June 2022 nuptials<\/a> to Sam Asghari<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cAt the time, it just wasn\u2019t a good time to go. I\u2019m not saying that I\u2019m not happy for her,\u201d Jayden explained. \u201cI\u2019m really happy for them, but she didn\u2019t invite the whole family. And then if it was just going to be me and Preston, I just don\u2019t see how that situation would have ended on good terms.\u201d<\/p>\n After Jayden\u2019s interview with the outlet was published, the Grammy winner took to social media to slam her son\u2019s comments<\/a>. In a lengthy, since-deleted Instagram post, Spears claimed that her sons spent as little time with her as possible during their visits.<\/p>\n \u201cIf I didn\u2019t shower you guys with gifts and have amazing food ready and play a mother f\u2014king saint it was still never good enough,\u201d she alleged.<\/p>\n The Mississippi native added that her children should have been more understanding of everything she was going through amid her 13-year conservatorship<\/a>, which ended in November 2021<\/a>. \u201cJayden, it was a miracle I could even have a normal conversation when I got out of that place, but you were just like my other family,\u201d Spears said at the time. \u201cYou secretly loved looking at me like something was wrong with me.\u201d<\/p>\n Days after uploading her fiery post, the performer shared in a series of since-deleted Instagram audio clips that she \u201cfelt like a huge part of me has died\u201d amid her estrangement from her sons.<\/p>\n \u201cLike, literally, I have no purpose anymore<\/a>. They were my joy, they were my everything. I looked forward to seeing them. That was what I lived for,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n Federline\u2019s lawyer, Mark Vincent Kaplan<\/strong>, addressed the family tension in TMZ\u2019s documentary, asserting that Preston and Jayden \u201clove their mother\u201d and \u201chope the relationship will improve\u201d over time. \u201cBut right now, that is a dynamic that doesn\u2019t seem to be in existence, the attorney alleged.<\/p>\n Before the doc dropped, Asghari, 29, slammed the film via Instagram on Sunday, May 14.<\/p>\n \u201cI found it absolutely disgusting for the people who were in her life when she didn\u2019t have a voice, they went and told her story like it was theirs,\u201d he said, encouraging his followers not to \u201cbelieve what you read online.\u201d<\/p>\n The Iran native and Spears began dating in 2016<\/a> after meeting on the set of her \u201cSlumber Party\u201d music video.
