Khloe Kardashian<\/strong><\/a> has revealed that she has become the primary caretaker to ex Tristan Thompson<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Amari<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n During the new episode of her Khloe in Wonder Land<\/em> podcast<\/a> that was released on Wednesday (July 30), the 41-year-old reality star opened up about stepping up to help with Amari<\/strong>, 18, following the sudden death<\/a> of his and the 34-year-old NBA player\u2019s mom Andrea<\/strong> in January 2023.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cFor those who don\u2019t know, Tristan has a younger brother who is 18 years old, and he is severely disabled. Amari has LGS (Lennox-Gastaut syndrome), which is a form of epilepsy, and he is disabled,\u201d Khloe<\/strong> explained. \u201cHe can\u2019t walk or talk. He\u2019s never been able to talk.\u201d <\/p>\n She noted that Andrea<\/strong> was \u201cthe sole caretaker for Amari\u201d when they lived in Canada, and said that \u201cwe \u2014 me, Tristan, my whole family \u2014 took Amari back with us to the States\u201d after Andrea<\/strong>\u2018s death.<\/p>\n Following Andrea\u2019s passing, Tristan<\/strong> was awarded guardianship of Amari<\/strong><\/a>, however, due to his busy NBA schedule, he isn\u2019t able to take care of his younger brother full-time.<\/p>\n \u201cTristan is in the NBA, and he is in a different state literally every other day or every few days, and it\u2019s just not conducive for Amari to be on that many planes,\u201d Khloe<\/strong> said. \u201cAmari has a handful of seizures a day with the type of epilepsy that he has.\u201d <\/p>\n \u201cSo Amari stays in LA with me, and I have chosen to take care of him and be there for him, because it\u2019s not good that he travel,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n Khloe <\/strong>went on to say that she \u201chaving Amari be a part of my family.\u201d <\/p>\n After giving credit to the \u201ctwo sensational caretakers for Amari,\u201d Khloe<\/strong> said that \u201cwe just want to provide Amari with the best, most beautiful life that we know how. And he deserves that.\u201d <\/p>\n Khloe<\/strong> also opened up about having Amari<\/strong> around her two kids, True<\/strong><\/a>, 7, and Tatum<\/strong><\/a>, 3, whom she shares with Tristan<\/strong>, and her extended family.<\/p>\n \u201cI think it\u2019s so important for my kids, my nieces and nephews, to be exposed to all different types of people in the world,\u201d The Kardashians<\/em> star explained. \u201cI think it teaches everyone compassion, understanding. It opens up their minds to seeing, wow, Amari is disabled, sure, but he\u2019s also just like us at the same time.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cAnd I love seeing how Amari lights up when he\u2019s around the kids,\u201d she continued. \u201cHe can\u2019t verbally talk, but if you know him well enough, he can definitely express himself, and you see the glimmer in his eyes. And he\u2019s just such an amazing, amazing young man. And I\u2019m so proud and honored that I have Amari in my life.\u201d <\/p>\n Also during the podcast, Khloe <\/strong>addressed questions about why she would help take care of Amari<\/strong> when she and Tristan<\/strong> are no longer romantically involved.<\/p>\n \u201cPeople are always like, why did I do that? Me and Tristan aren\u2019t together, why would I take on helping with Amari?\u201d Khloe<\/strong> said. \u201cBut when I met Tristan and his family, oh my gosh, like nine, almost 10 years ago, which is crazy. When I met them, Andrea, Tristan\u2019s mom and I, we became such good friends.\u201d <\/p>\n While recalling her \u201cgreat relationship\u201d with Tristan<\/strong>\u2018s late mom, Khloe<\/strong> continued, \u201cI would help her with Amari medically. She would have questions. She would need connections to certain doctors, and I would help with that. So I was very much involved in all of his medical appointments when Andrea was here.\u201d <\/p>\n She added, \u201cI also know how much Amari means to Andrea, and she passed away because she had a sudden heart attack. Me being in a relationship or not with Tristan, I still have this family that I\u2019ve spent so many years with, that I have such connections with that, my relationship with Andrea has nothing to do with Tristan, and my commitment to her has nothing to do with Tristan, and Amari deserves someone who will be there for him, take care of him, provide a great lifestyle for him and so Amari deserves my love and care, regardless of where me and Tristan stand.\u201d <\/p>\n If you missed it, Khloe<\/strong> shared an update on her healing process two years after she had a precancerous melanoma<\/a> removed from her face.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
