Taron Egerton recently returned to Instagram<\/p>\n
The 35-year-old actor recently returned to Instagram to promote his new movie, She Rides Shotgun, but Taron admits he quickly regretted his decision.<\/p>\n
He said on the Today show: “I got back on to promote this movie. This movie is a bit of a little engine. It’s harder to spread the word of a movie of this size.”<\/p>\n
Asked how he feels about returning to social media, Taron replied: “I feel worse.”<\/p>\n
The actor acknowledged that social media trolls can have a detrimental impact on his mental health.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “I genuinely don’t think it’s good for your mental health. I will be hopping back off once the film is out.”<\/p>\n
\nTaron suggested that the negative elements of social media far outweigh the positives.<\/p>\n
\nThe Hollywood star explained: “I think I’m better off without it.”<\/p>\n
\nMeanwhile, Taron has played down talk that he could replace Daniel Craig as James Bond, insisting he’s too “messy” for the role.<\/p>\n
\nThe movie star believes there are “so many cool, younger actors” who would be better suited to the coveted role.<\/p>\n
\nAsked about the possibility of playing Bond, he told Collider: “I don’t think I’m a good choice for it. I think I’m too messy for that. <\/p>\n
\n“I think I’m not\u2014 I really love James Bond and particularly Daniel Craig’s tenure. But I think I wouldn’t be good at it, and I think there’s so many cool, younger actors who would be great for it. I think it would be wasted on me, probably.”<\/p>\n
\nTaron also observed that leading the Bond franchise is “quite an undertaking”.<\/p>\n
\nHe said: “That’s not to say that I don’t have aspirations and plans and also that I wouldn’t be interested in doing something that’s more commercial, because of course I would. I think I’m a period in my life where, as you say, I’ve been probably following the things that speak to me on a creative level a little bit more, but, you know, I’m sure I won’t feel that way forever. <\/p>\n
\n“But James Bond is quite an undertaking and I think, one, as far as I’m aware, nobody’s asking me to do it.”<\/p>\n
