After running a community-focused site for over a decade (RIP Brooklyn Based), it\u2019s taken me some time to find a role where I really feel at home\u2014until now. I\u2019m beyond thrilled to be Food52\u2019s first Community Editor<\/a>, and I hope to be meeting as many of you Food52ers as possible in person and virtually over the next few months.<\/p>\n One of the things I love about Food52 is how dynamic it is; there are so many nooks and crannies of our community to dig into. Our recipes<\/a>, of course, are brilliant and vast, and grow daily not just from our regular contributors and Residents<\/a>, but also from members who contribute recipes to our site. I know I\u2019m not the only one who appreciates our videos<\/a>: Just take a look at the comments on Lucas Sin<\/a>\u2019s tutorials (\u201cI can’t believe I get to watch these videos for free!\u201d) or Erin McDowell<\/a>\u2019s master classes on all things baking (\u201cI have been on a mission to make a good crust for years and you’ve helped crack the code.\u201d) And our Instagram<\/a> and TikTok<\/a> are some of the most delightful rabbit holes to fall into, in part because of the hilarious comments you post. (The thread on the April Fool\u2019s \u201cCooked Water<\/a>\u201d post is priceless: \u201cFor those asking if store bought is okay\u2014trust me, it tastes a lot better when you make it from scratch.\u201d)<\/p>\n I also don\u2019t know any other brand that develops products (hello, Five Two<\/a>!) with input from its community. Or one filled with so many creative, accomplished cooks who are also so helpful to one another in the Hotline<\/a>.<\/p>\n But we recognize that all the pieces of our community pie will work better when someone is at the ready to help field questions and address concerns. Going forward, you will see me chiming in regularly on the Hotline<\/a> and in comments, planning and joining you at events in our new gorgeous space in the Brooklyn Navy Yard, bringing back\u2014and improving upon\u2014beloved programs like the Holiday Swap, and introducing new series that we are still cooking up.<\/p>\n First and foremost, I am here to listen to you.
