It\u2019s been 25 years since the release of Coyote Ugly<\/em><\/a>, and star Piper Perabo<\/strong><\/a> teased that a sequel isn\u2019t fully out of the question.<\/p>\n

Perabo, 48, hinted at a potential next installment of the film while speaking with The Hollywood Reporter<\/em><\/a> at San Diego Comic-Con on Sunday, July 27.<\/p>\n

After joking that the sequel should be called Coyote-er Ugly<\/em>, she revealed, \u201cThere has been some discussion about that. Some things are being discussed.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perabo continued, \u201cI can\u2019t really say, but people that were doing it are talking about some stuff.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tThe beloved 2004 teen comedy Mean Girls has had a direct-to-DVD movie sequel, been adapted into a Broadway musical and now, has a new movie based on said musical \u2014 but fans are still waiting on a sequel with the OG cast. Lindsay Lohan, who starred as innocent-homeschooler-turned-Plastic Cady Heron in the original film, reunited [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

When asked if conversations were \u201cback on\u201d regarding a second film<\/a>, Perabo replied, \u201cAmong the necessary \u2014 and some people that were like, \u2018Well, we don\u2019t necessarily need,\u2019 they\u2019re like, \u2018Oh, well I wanna be in it.\u2019 So, there\u2019s a lot of cooks in the kitchen right now, but things are moving around.\u201d<\/p>\n

Perabo also played coy when asked if there was already a script for Coyote Ugly 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n

\u201cI can\u2019t say anything about that, but I will say that people that were integral to making it are in communication about how to do something more,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n

Coyote Ugly<\/em> was released in 2000 and starred Perabo as aspiring songwriter Violet Sanford. She gets a job at Coyote Ugly, a saloon where bartenders dance on the bar, in an attempt to earn money to kickstart her songwriting career. Along the way, Violet meets love interest Kevin O\u2019Donnell (Adam Garcia<\/strong>), who helps her overcome stage fright.<\/p>\n

Violet\u2019s father, Bill Sanford (John Goodman<\/strong>), takes issue with her working at Coyote Ugly and she later gets fired. After her dad is involved in a car accident, he encourages his daughter to continue pursuing her dream of songwriting despite initially being hesitant. Violet later performs at the Bowery Ballroom in New York City and ultimately earns a record deal.<\/p>\n

Coyote Ugly<\/em> has withstood the test of time, especially LeAnn Rimes<\/strong>\u2019 hit \u201cCan\u2019t Fight the Moonlight,\u201d which was performed by the singer in the film.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s kind of crazy to step back and think, like, I was 17 dancing on a bar,\u201d Rimes, 42, said of the experience in an October 2020 interview with Daily Pop<\/em>.<\/p>\n
