Chasin\u2019 Birdies<\/em> podcast<\/a> recently spoke to Chase Chrisley, who obviously had a great deal to say about his parents\u2019 incarcerations.<\/p>\n\u201cTheir conditions are just so s\u2013tty,\u201d the 26-year-old reality TV personality characterized.<\/p>\n
\u201cLike, everybody acts like my dad\u2019s in some country club,\u201d Chase then lamented. He added that the family will \u201cnever miss a weekend.\u201d They have a whole schedule to rotate things.<\/p>\n
\u201cSavannah will go see my dad; I\u2019ll go see my mom,\u201d Chase describes. \u201cWe\u2019ll rotate, and Savannah will normally take the kids [Grayson and Chloe] down with her.\u201d<\/p>\nSavannah Chrisley talks here about her parents during an appearance on a podcast.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cIt\u2019s tough, man,\u201d Chase expressed. \u201cOur family loves hard.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cSo,\u201d he explained, \u201cwhen you love somebody as much as we love each other, it\u2019s difficult to see your loved ones in a situation like that.\u201d That makes sense!<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, this has opened his eyes to a lot of major issues with the justice system. Some of which, even his parents\u2019 harshest critics can agree with.<\/p>\nTodd and Julie Chrisley are GUILTY. They\u2019ll be spending many years in prison as a result.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cOur system\u2019s so broken, but that\u2019s not new,\u201d Chase acknowledged. <\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, there are so many other people that are wrongly convicted that are sitting in prison,\u201d he noted, \u201cand just don\u2019t have the resources to fight.\u201d<\/p>\n
Remember, Todd and Julie insisted upon their innocence from the start. Arguably, it may have led to why their sentences amount to a combined 19 years in prison.<\/p>\nTodd Chrisley and his wife don\u2019t seem to think the laws apply to them. It\u2019s pretty sad, really.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nSo, Chase has gained a new understanding of the failings of the legal system \u2014 from courts to prisons.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat\u2019s what my sister and I are working on, is the prison reform,\u201d he said of their charity work.<\/p>\n
\u201cAnd,\u201d Chase continues, \u201ctrying to help people with their re-entry whenever they get out, help them find jobs, give them some stability.\u201d<\/p>\nJulie and Todd Chrisley may be all smiles in this scene from their reality show. But their life is awful these days.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\u201cBut yeah, man, it\u2019s tough seeing them In there,\u201d Chase said, before delving into the conditions that his parents must now endure.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey got like black mold [where my dad is], and my mom\u2019s place is even worse,\u201d he described.<\/p>\n
\u201cI mean, she doesn\u2019t even have air conditioning,\u201d Chase detailed. \u201cThey\u2019re in a camp. It\u2019s better than being behind a wall.\u201d<\/p>\nTodd and Julie Chrisley are headed to prison for a very long time. (Photo via USA Network)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\nThough Todd and Julie are unsympathetic victims, those are genuinely awful conditions. And, if true, a violation of their human rights \u2014 if not necessarily of their legal <\/em>rights.<\/p>\nChase added that his parents lack privacy, living in \u201cjust in a big room with everybody.\u201d <\/p>\n

That is likely to attract less sympathy than the focus upon the severity of their sentences and the genuine misery of their prison conditions.<\/p>\n
Of course, all of it means that Todd and Julie\u2019s personalities will repel would-be sympathizers. They\u2019re not good people and they\u2019re not likable people, and so they\u2019re not the best \u201cfaces\u201d for prison reform. Sad but true.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
