to cancel The Late Show<\/a> with Stephen Colbert.<\/p>\nHere\u2019s the thing, however:<\/p>\n
The program will not go off the air until May 2026.<\/p>\n
This means that the outspoken and hilarious host now has 10 months with nothing to lose; 10 months\u2019 worth of new episodes during which he can blast the company that made this decision, along with the person many believe is truly responsible for it:<\/p>\n

Earlier this summer, Paramount agreed to pay the President $16 million to settle a ridiculous lawsuit in which he accused 60 Minutes of election interference in 2024 due to the way it edited an interview with Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n
Some folks out there believe Trump also pressured Paramount to fire Colbert as part of this deal\u2026 because Colbert just referred last week to this settlement as a \u201cbig fat bribe\u201d and has openly been VERY critical of the two-time Commander-in-Chief.<\/p>\n
There. So now you\u2019re caught up.<\/p>\n
This brings us to Monday\u2019s episode of The Late Show.<\/p>\n (CBS)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nFirst, during his monologue, Colbert accused CBS of leaking financial figures to the press, alleging his show was losing upward of $40 million a year as a justification for ending the franchise.<\/p>\n
Colbert quipped $40 million \u201cis a big number\u201d and then added: <\/p>\n
\u201cI could see us losing $24 million. But where could Paramount possibly have spent the other $16 million \u2026 oh wait.\u201d<\/p>\n
Colbert also noted how Trump celebrated his cancellation in a Truth Social post, with the President writing he \u201cloves\u201d the fact the host his nemesis got axed and saying he has no talent.<\/p>\n
\u201cHow dare you, sir,\u201d Colbert replied on air. \u201cWould an untalented man be able to compose the following satirical witticism: \u2018Go f\u2011ck yourself.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n
Seriously, folks. Buckle up. We can only imagine what the next 10 months will bring us from Stephen Colbert, who said yesterday that the \u201cgloves are off\u201d at this point.<\/strong><\/p>\nDuring his monologue following the cancelation news, Stephen Colbert delivered his most expletive-laden message on the \u201cEloquence Cam.\u201d (CBS)<\/span><\/figcaption><\/figure>\nSeveral days ago, Colbert was the first person to address the future of his talk show.<\/p>\n
\u201cBefore we start the show I want to let you know something that I found out just last night,\u201d he said at the time. \u201cNext year will be our last season, the network [CBS] will be ending The Late Show in May\u2026<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m not being replaced. This is all just going away. I do want to say that the folks at CBS have been great partners \u2026 And I\u2019m grateful to the audience, you, who have joined us every night, in here, out there, and all around the world.\u201d<\/p>\n
In a gesture of solidarity on Monday night, meanwhile Colbert\u2019s fellow late night show hosts \u2014 Last Week Tonight\u2019s John Oliver, Late Night\u2019s Seth Meyers and the Daily Show\u2019s Jon Stewart \u2014 all showed up for a joke in Monday night\u2019s episode. <\/p>\n
They were joined by other entertainers and journalists including Lin-Manuel Miranda, Weird Al Yankovic, Andy Cohen, Anderson Cooper, Adam Sandler and Christopher McDonald.<\/p>\n<\/p><\/div>\n
