The comic, 29, made the admission when he joined his mother Amy for a chat in the new issue of \u2018Good Housekeeping\u2019 in which they reminisced about his childhood \u2013 saying his repeat gift was Britney Spears<\/a>\u2019 perfume.<\/p>\n

Pete, whose firefighter dad Scott died during the 9\/11 terror attack with the rest of his unit, said: \u201cMother\u2019s Day is an important holiday in my household. We\u2019re a close family, and growing up, my sister and I always tried to make things special, although I wasn\u2019t always good at it.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m pretty sure I bought her the same Britney Spears<\/a> perfume eight years in a row\u2026 happy Mother\u2019s Day to everyone out there filling the role of Mom. \u201cWhatever amount of credit you\u2019re getting, it’s not enough.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amy said even though she never wore the perfume, she believes it\u2019s the thought that counts.<\/p>\n

\nShe added: \u201cPete and his sister, Casey, have done a lot for me over the years.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cAs children, they would always wake me up with breakfast in bed.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cOne Mother\u2019s Day, Pete outdid himself and made me an entire croquembouche.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cIt was unimaginable, like something out of an exotic French bakery! A beautiful tower of cream puffs drizzled with chocolate caramel! It was mind-blowing and how I knew my little boy had something special, if this was what he could pull off when he focused his love and energy.\u201d<\/p>\n

\nPete\u2019s new show \u2018Bupkis\u2019, which premiered on 4 May on Peacock is based on his real life and features Edie Falco, 59, as his mother and Joe Pesci, 80, with Pete playing himself. <\/p>\n

\nHe added about how his mum caught him out with a Eminem CD she had banned from the house: \u201cWhen I was younger, I bought the uncensored \u2018Eminem Show\u2019 CD, which of course I wasn\u2019t allowed to have, so I kept it in a Rod Stewart jewel case.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cMy mom noticed, and for years she\u2019d play Rod Stewart to have something we could bond over.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI\u2019d be sitting in the car and suddenly she\u2019d say, \u2018It\u2019s Rod!\u2019 and start singing along to \u2018Maggie May\u2019.<\/p>\n

\n\u201cI had to learn the songs just to keep the lie going. I kinda learned to like Rod Stewart.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
