Jax Taylor recently quit the reality show<\/p>\n
\nThe 46-year-old star recently announced that he was walking away from the reality TV series in order to focus on his sobriety, and Andy has now voiced his support for Jax’s decision.<\/p>\n
\nAndy, 57, told People: “I think it’s a good decision. I think he needs to work out s*** without cameras around.”<\/p>\n
\nThe TV host believes Jax is “very committed” to his sobriety journey.<\/p>\n
\nAndy actually spoke to Jax off-camera about how to rebuild his life and his relationship with his estranged wife, Brittany Cartwright.<\/p>\n
\nAndy said: “This comes up at the reunion \u2014 I have kind of a serious conversation with him about his need for control and his anger issues, and what it’s going to take to get to a better place with Brittany and in the world. And I hope he takes the time to lean into this, away from the cameras.”<\/p>\n
\nJax recently confirmed that he was quitting The Valley.<\/p>\n
\nThe reality star confirmed he won’t be part of the third season of the Bravo show following an “incredibly challenging” year, which saw him split from Brittany – the mother of his four-year-old son Cruz – and subsequently check into rehab for mental health and addiction treatment.<\/p>\n
\nJax told Us Weekly: “After an incredibly challenging year and many honest conversations with my team and producers, I\u2019ll be stepping away from the next season of The Valley.<\/p>\n
\n“Right now, my focus needs to be on my sobriety, my mental health, and co-parenting. Taking this time is necessary for me to become the best version of myself \u2014 especially for our son, Cruz.”<\/p>\n
\nJax previously admitted that he’s been battling a cocaine addiction for more than 20 years.<\/p>\n
\nHe said on the Hot Mic podcast: “I have substance issues – primarily with cocaine. It\u2019s hard to say out loud. I\u2019ve been dealing with this on and off since I was 23 and now I\u2019m 45.<\/p>\n
\n“There was times where I would stop doing it but then there were times where I\u2019d go heavy on it.<\/p>\n
\n“I just want to let people know this is a really, really tough disease and it\u2019s a really tough sickness.”<\/p>\n
