I said \u2018Forget about it \u2014 the kids on American Bandstand would laugh me right off the show.\u2019 He said, \u2018If you don\u2019t record this song, dummy, the only way you\u2019ll get on <em>American Bandstand<\/em> is to sit on the TV.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>At first, it looked as though that song would also flop.
