So maybe he wasn\u2019t right about everything,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>There was no way Gillis couldn\u2019t comment on Donald Trump and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thehollywoodgossip.com\/2025\/07\/donald-trump-lashes-out-at-stupid-republican-supporters-amid-ongoing-epstein-furor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">whole Epstein Files scandal<\/a>, either.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere was supposed to be an Epstein joke here, but it got deleted, must have probably deleted itself, right?\u201d he joked. \u201cProbably never existed. Actually. Let\u2019s move on as a country and ignore that.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Gillis wrapped up his monologue by referencing an old Norm Macdonald joke that he used when he hosted the ESPYs \u2014 taking aim at O.J. Simpson in the process.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTravis Hunter won the Heisman Trophy this year,\u201d he began. <\/p>\n<p>\u201dHe\u2019s the first defensive player since Charles Woodson to win the Heisman. Congratulations, Travis Hunter, winning the Heisman, that\u2019s something they can never take away from you.
