Jennifer Love Hewitt<\/a> has experienced a “loss of innocence” since filming I Know What You Did Last Summer in the mid-90s.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n

The 46-year-old actress has reprised the role of Julie James for the new I Know What You Did Last Summer movie, and Jennifer admits that she can still relate to the teenage version of herself, even though she’s experienced so much in her life.<\/p>\n
Asked if she still feels connected to the 18-year-old version of herself, Jennifer told The Hollywood Reporter: “Yeah, I do. Very much so.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“It\u2019s interesting that you ask that. I\u2019ve definitely had a loss of innocence and trauma in my life. Some of my friends don\u2019t [feel this way], but I still feel uniquely connected to my youth and who I was then. I carry her with me, and that\u2019s an important thing to do as you get older.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“When you lose that, you lose something very drastic. So I still feel very connected to that part of my life, for sure.”<\/p>\n
\nJennifer has also confessed to being “a tad bit more paranoid” since reprising the role of Julie for the new horror movie.<\/p>\n
\nThe Hollywood actress – who stars in the new film alongside the likes of Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders and Jonah Hauer-King – shared: “When we were filming the first movie, I was already terrified of horror movies, and I was very aware of the fact that I was actually filming in a real fishing village in Southport, North Carolina.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\n“I was like, ‘There\u2019s fishermen everywhere, and I\u2019ve been running from one all day. And now I\u2019m supposed to go home and go to sleep? How is that going to work out?’ But since this movie has come back into my life, I\u2019m a tad bit more paranoid.”<\/p>\n
\nJennifer admits that returning to the horror franchise after so many years away has made her “a little jumpier”.<\/p>\n
\nThe film star – who married actor Brian Hallisay in 2013 – said: “I left that behind for a while, and now I\u2019m definitely like, ‘What was that!?’ I\u2019m a little jumpier now that the movie is back in my life.”<\/p>\n
