The early days of John F. Kennedy<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s relationship with wife Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis<\/strong> were full of ups and downs.<\/p>\n

The new biography, JFK: Public, Private, Secret<\/em><\/a>, by J. Randy Taraborrelli<\/strong> \u2014 published on Tuesday, July 15 \u2014 revealed that Jackie traveled to the Kennedy family\u2019s home in Hyannis Port for the 4th of July weekend in 1952. Once the holiday came to an end, JFK went back to work as a budding politician.<\/p>\n

\u201cBecause he was so busy, Jack wouldn\u2019t see Jackie for two months,\u201d Taraborrelli wrote, referring to JFK by his famed nickname. \u201cHe felt a little bad about it, especially after having had sex with her in Hyannis Port, but it had been the equivalent of a one-night stand for him.\u201d<\/p>\n

Both Jackie and JFK were \u201cuninspired\u201d by each other at that point, the book revealed.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen he was with Jackie, it was fine,\u201d the book reads. \u201cWhen he wasn\u2019t, that was fine too.\u201d<\/p>\n

In November 1952, JFK had a change of heart after winning his Senate seat.<\/p>\n

\u201cBy this time, it\u2019d been five months since she\u2019d heard from him, and she\u2019d pretty much given up on him. She was hurt,\u201d Taraborrelli wrote. \u201cIt was as if he\u2019d gotten what he wanted from her, then ditched her.\u201d<\/p>\n

After a few more outings, the two had an \u201cawkward phone call,\u201d which felt as if they had broken up. Things were apparently up in the air when JFK left for a European trip in December 1952 \u00ad\u2014 not telling Jackie that he left<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Things changed the following month when Jackie accompanied JFK to several high-profile political events in January 1953.<\/p>\n

\u201cJack now apparently wanted her at his side at major events, and Jackie was excited, as was her mother,\u201d Taraborrelli wrote. (Elsewhere in the book it was revealed that Jackie\u2019s mom, Janet Auchincloss<\/strong>, was taken by the Kennedy family\u2019s wealth.)<\/p>\n
