\t\t<\/p>\n Smurfs<\/strong><\/a><\/em> director Chris Miller<\/strong> cast his son Hugo Miller<\/strong><\/a> in the new animated film and the young up-and-coming star is responding to \u201cnepo baby\u201d labels.<\/p>\n Hugo<\/strong> makes his acting debut in the role of Clumsy Smurf.<\/p>\n While on the red carpet at the Los Angeles premiere, Hugo <\/strong>was asked if he called his father \u201cChris\u201d or \u201cdad\u201d in the recording studio while making the movie.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n Hugo<\/strong> jokingly responded, \u201cChris! We got to keep it professional. Can\u2019t let everyone know we\u2019re nepo babying in there.\u201d He added that he is \u201cproudly\u201d a nepo baby.<\/p>\n \u201cMy parents met at Cal Arts. I was raised by a choreographer and a movie director. Creativity was kind of our family language. I\u2019ve been dancing, singing, and acting my whole life. You know, he made me wait for it. It wasn\u2019t all handed to me. This is not his first project. We felt like it was time. I mean, he was like, \u2018I can\u2019t promise you anything.
