Bachelor<\/em><\/a> alum Bekah Martinez<\/strong><\/a> is revealing why she hasn\u2019t shaved her legs for seven years.<\/p>\n

In a Tuesday, July 8, Instagram<\/a> post, Martinez, 30, shared a screenshot of a message she recently received which read, \u201cYour face doesn\u2019t jive with your hairy legs.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cGrey must be grossed out,\u201d the message continued, referring to Martinez\u2019s longtime love, Grayston Leonard<\/strong>, with whom she shares three children including daughter Ruth, 6, and sons Franklin, 5, and Ernesto, 21 months.<\/p>\n

In a lengthy slideshow, Martinez responded that it\u2019s her body, her choice.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tBekah Martinez and her longtime love, Grayston Leonard, haven\u2019t had a conventional romance \u2014 but their connection has only grown stronger over the years. Martinez was introduced to Bachelor Nation when she appeared on Arie Luyendyk Jr.\u2019s season of The Bachelor in 2018. While many speculated that she would head to Bachelor in Paradise that [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cI started sneaking my mom\u2019s razors in 3rd grade. I remember praying to God that he\u2019d remove all my hair from the neck down,\u201d Martinez wrote. \u201cFamily, friends, and even teachers and coaches would gently tease when any of my jet black leg stubble was growing out. It was seemingly harmless but continued to reinforce that my body\u2019s hair was wrong.\u201d<\/p>\n

Martinez continued, \u201cI stopped shaving when I was pregnant with my first child. I wanted my daughter (and my future sons) to see that hair on a woman\u2019s body is normal. Not shameful. Not gross. I wanted to demonstrate that body hair is not masculine. Because I am a woman. And so my body hair is feminine.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt wasn\u2019t just for my kids,\u201d she explained. \u201cIt was for me. I wanted to consciously work through the disgust I had in my natural body. I still don\u2019t love my body hair. And in certain settings, I feel people\u2019s stares and feel embarrassed. But the feeling has so much less power over me than it used to.\u201d<\/p>\n

She concluded, \u201cAnd when Ruth points and says, \u2018Mom, my legs look like yours,\u2019 without an ounce of shame, it is all worth it.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tCelebrity moms are becoming more and more open about their pregnancies \u2014 and have started sharing their postpartum bodies on social media. \u201cSo amazing what we [mothers] can do,\u201d Bachelor Nation\u2019s Bekah Martinez captioned an Instagram Story mirror selfie in February 2019 after welcoming her first baby. \u201cI\u2019ve never felt so much respect and love [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

As for her fianc\u00e9? \u201cAnd for the record, Gray went to a liberal arts college in Oregon, so he\u2019s had his fair share of gross razor-less women,\u201d Martinez captioned her post.<\/p>\n
