\t\t<\/p>\n Emily Deschanel<\/strong> is getting honest about the struggles she had on set of her show Bones<\/em><\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n The 48-year-old actress played the role of Dr. Temperance Brennan on the show for its 12 season run. As a guest on David Duchovny<\/strong><\/a>\u2018s Fail Better<\/em> podcast on Tuesday (July 8), Emily<\/strong> got vulnerable about struggling on the set of the show. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n On the podcast, Emily<\/strong> revealed that her ADHD and dyslexia diagnoses made memorizing lines for the show difficult. The actress shared that during the first season, she had trouble remembering the technical jargon that should have come naturally to her character.<\/p>\n \u201cWe were working insane hours, longer than just a normal series. You\u2019re working 14- to 16-hour days, and then I had to memorize the lines. So I\u2019d be staying up late night memorizing lines. I would joke that I would go home and just cry in a bathtub every night because I was just so overwhelmed,\u201d Emily<\/strong> admitted on the podcast. <\/p>\n Emily<\/strong> went on to reveal that after being late to set one day, series creator Hart Hanson<\/strong> came to her trailer to have a blunt discussion with her about her performance on the show. She said, \u201cHe took me aside and says, \u2018The studio has concerns about your work.\u2019 They said that I was late and unprepared. That to me \u2014 I get emotional just thinking about it now because it was probably shame.\u201d<\/p>\n After that, Emily<\/strong> revealed that she was able to get help from the production team in order to memorize her lines better and her issues subsided as the show went on for its impressive 12 season run. <\/p>\n \u201cHart<\/strong> helped me find ways to be better, get my job done in terms of learning my lines and remembering them and a lot of it was having downtime or having some scene that I\u2019m not in, etc. He\u2019s just a good one.
