As for cheating, we are afraid the messages are still mixed.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Blockbuster ahead: <\/strong>Figma released a regulatory filing ahead of its IPO, which experts estimate could raise up to $1.5 billion for the design company \u2014 and <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/01\/figma-moves-closer-to-a-blockbuster-ipo-that-could-raise-1-5b\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">its financial details are impressive<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Multitasking: <\/strong>In case you missed it, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/03\/everyone-in-tech-has-an-opinion-about-soham-parekh\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">everyone in tech has an opinion<\/a> about Soham Parekh, the serial moonlighter Silicon Valley startups apparently <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/03\/who-is-soham-parekh-the-serial-moonlighter-silicon-valley-startups-cant-stop-hiring\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">can\u2019t stop hiring<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Between the cheats: <\/strong>Cluely is making noise with its rage-bait marketing, but the numbers are also following. Its annual recurring revenue <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/03\/cluelys-arr-doubled-in-a-week-to-7m-founder-roy-lee-says-but-rivals-are-coming\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">doubled to about $7 million<\/a> in a week, founder Roy Lee told TechCrunch. Meanwhile, LangChain may become <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/08\/langchain-is-about-to-become-a-unicorn-sources-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a unicorn<\/a> soon.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Also: <\/strong>Rivian spinoff Also, a micromobility startup building e-bikes and more, raised <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/08\/rivian-spinoff-also-raises-another-200m-to-build-e-bikes-and-more\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">$200 million from Greenoaks Capital<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Concrete: <\/strong>Colorado-based startup Terra CO2 locked in <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/02\/terra-co2-cements-124m-series-b-to-slash-concretes-carbon-footprint\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a $124 million Series B<\/a> to slash the carbon footprint of concrete.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>AI for robots: <\/strong>Genesis AI, a startup that aims to build a foundational model for enabling robots to perform tasks, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/01\/genesis-ai-launches-with-105m-seed-funding-from-eclipse-khosla-to-build-ai-models-for-robots\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">emerged from stealth with a $105 million seed round<\/a> (yes, seed) co-led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>From Dubai to Spain: <\/strong>Huspy, a proptech startup that streamlines finding homes and mortgages, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/07\/uae-proptech-huspy-raises-59m-to-scale-in-europe\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">closed a $59 million Series B<\/a> to double down across the Middle East and expand in Europe. It is already present in Spain.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Happy accidents:<\/strong> After rediscovering a forgotten hydrogen tech, Tulum Energy <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/07\/tulum-energy-rediscovered-a-forgotten-hydrogen-tech-and-used-it-to-raise-27m\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised $27 million<\/a> to build a pilot plant in Mexico alongside a steel plant belonging to Techint Group, out of which it spun out.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Quantum collective:<\/strong> Israeli quantum startup Qedma just <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/03\/israeli-quantum-startup-qedma-just-raised-26-million-with-ibm-joining-in\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised a $26 million round<\/a> with participation from IBM, which takes the stance that driving quantum further requires a community effort.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Composed: <\/strong>Tailor, whose system Omakase allows AI agents to securely access its enterprise resource planning platform via API, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/06\/30\/tailor-a-headless-erp-startup-raises-22m-series-a\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">raised a $22 million Series A<\/a>. \u201c[B]usinesses want systems that can be composed, not hardcoded,\u201d CEO Yo Shibata said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Battle-tested: <\/strong>Co-founded by Pipedrive CEO and angel investor Ragnar Sass, Estonian VC firm Darkstar <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/08\/european-vc-breaks-taboo-by-investing-in-pure-defense-tech-from-ukraines-war-zones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">completed a first close of approximately $17.5 million<\/a> to invest in defense solutions that have been tested in combat in Ukraine, with the goal of helping re-arm Europe.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Alum backing alums: <\/strong>Phosphor Capital, a venture firm launched by Zeus Living founder Kulveer Taggar, <a href=\"https:\/\/techcrunch.com\/2025\/07\/03\/y-combinator-alum-launched-a-new-34m-fund-dedicated-to-yc-startups-backed-by-garry-tan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">will solely invest in Y Combinator companies<\/a>, and YC CEO Garry Tan is one of its investors.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-last-but-not-least\"><strong>Last but not least<\/strong><\/h2>\n<figure
