Unless you follow David Corenswet<\/strong> on Instagram\u2014and to be fair, nearly 900,000 people do\u2014you may not be familiar with his name. As of this weekend, though, everyone will know who he is. Corenswet is about to take up the mantle of the world\u2019s most iconic hero: Superman, in the eponymous new film from James Gunn.<\/p>\n The 32-year-old American is far from a newcomer to the screen. He\u2019s appeared in all sorts of projects, from film\u2014including Pearl<\/em> and Twisters<\/em>\u2014to TV, where he has appeared on House of Cards<\/em> and Elementary.<\/em> He had more prominent roles in two Ryan Murphy<\/strong> series for Netflix, The Politician<\/em> and Hollywood<\/em>. The new Man of Steel has two other projects in the works as well: the series The Answers,<\/em> with Pretty Little Liars<\/em> alum Lucy Hale,<\/strong> and the film Mr. Irrelevant<\/em> with Michael Shannon<\/strong>. But they certainly won’t be the last because he has now conquered Hollywood. He also directed an independent pilot<\/a> about an Onlyfans camgirl called Real Live Girl<\/em> and produced a short<\/a> called Woman in the Sky<\/em>.<\/p>\n Since March 2023, Corenswet has been married to actress Julia Best Warner<\/strong>, whom he met at an acting summer camp when he was still a young boy. Though their wedding was years ago, the pair only made their red carpet debut this week, at the Los Angeles premiere of Superman<\/em>. Warner and Corenswet also have a one-year-old son.<\/p>\n Today, the Superman performer delivers messages of kindness and vulnerability\u2014much like his on-screen alter ego. \u201cI feel like I’ve been a dad for a long time, and just waiting for a kid to prove it,\u201d he told People<\/em><\/a> in June. \u201cMy dad was an enthusiastic father and stayed home with my sister for a period when she was very little, and was very good with kids. And so I think I just inherited that. I liked being a camp counselor, and I have terrible jokes that nobody laughs at.\u201d<\/p>\n Corenswet\u2019s parents were both lawyers, who raised him and his older sister, Amy<\/strong>, in New Orleans.
