For one harrowing moment during the making of Jurassic World Rebirth<\/a>,<\/em> director Gareth Edwards<\/strong> had to tiptoe gently around a giant. That giant was Steven Spielberg<\/strong>, the executive producer of Rebirth,<\/em> the sixth sequel to his landmark thriller Jurassic Park<\/em>, which redefined the summertime blockbuster in 1993 just as significantly as Spielberg\u2019s don\u2019t-go-into-the-water thriller Jaws<\/em> had done a generation before.<\/p>\n The shadows of both films hovered ominously over Jurassic World Rebirth,<\/em> especially in a key scene that places Scarlett Johansson<\/strong><\/a>\u2019s daring tracker on the bow of a speeding boat as she fires a dart into a swimming leviathan known as a Mosasaurus<\/a>.<\/p>\n \u201cWhen I read the script, I had no idea what was going to happen,\u201d Edwards tells Vanity Fair<\/em>. \u201cYou go, \u2018Well, hang on. There\u2019s a boat racing to chase a creature underwater that has a giant fin, and they have a rifle, and they\u2019re leaning out on the edge of the boat to try and shoot it\u2026\u2019 I felt a bit like there\u2019s another<\/em> movie that did this really well.\u201d<\/p>\n
