Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/strong><\/a> received a standing ovation from fellow prisoners after he was acquitted of three of the five charges<\/a> against him during his recent federal trial, his lawyer said.<\/p>\n

In an interview with the Associated Press<\/em><\/a> published Sunday, July 6, the music mogul\u2019s attorney Marc Agnifilo<\/strong> said the rapper received a round of applause when he returned to his Brooklyn, New York, penitentiary following the Wednesday, July 2, verdict. (Diddy has been detained at the Metropolitan Detention Center since he was first arrested<\/a> in September 2024.)<\/p>\n

Diddy, 55, was acquitted of three of the most serious charges against him \u2014 two counts of sex trafficking and one count of racketeering conspiracy \u2014 last week. If found guilty, Diddy could have been sentenced to life behind bars.<\/p>\n

The rapper was convicted<\/a> on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, for which he could serve up to 20 years in prison, minus time served. Legal experts have predicted he will ultimately serve much less time than the maximum sentence. He is expected to be sentenced October 3.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey all said: \u2018We never get to see anyone who beats the government,\u2019\u201d Agnifilo told the AP<\/em>.<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI said, \u2018Maybe it\u2019s your fate in life to be the guy who wins.\u2019 They need to see that someone can win. I think he took that to heart.\u201d<\/p>\n

Agnifilo also gave an update on Diddy since the verdict was delivered. \u201cHe\u2019s doing OK,\u201d he told the outlet.<\/p>\n

According to Agnifilo, Diddy is eager to continue working on self-improvement when he is eventually released from prison. He noted that Diddy will likely reenter a domestic violence program he had started before his September arrest. (In May 2024, video footage emerged<\/a>\u00a0of him assaulting then-girlfriend Cassie<\/strong> in a hotel hallway in 2016.)<\/p>\n

Agnifilo said the \u201cBad Boy for Life\u201d rapper \u201crealizes he has flaws like everyone else that he never worked on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe burns hot in all matters. I think what he has come to see is that he has these flaws and there\u2019s no amount of fame and no amount of fortune that can erase them,\u201d he said. \u201cYou can\u2019t cover them up.\u201d<\/p>\n

One of the 12 jurors in Diddy\u2019s trial recently said<\/a> that the rapper\u2019s star power had little to do with their decision to acquit him of three of the five charges against him. The juror said any speculation to the contrary was \u201chighly insulting and belittling to the jury and the deliberation process.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe spent over two days deliberating,\u201d the anonymous juror shared in a Thursday, July 3, statement with ABC News. \u201cOur decision was based solely on the evidence presented and how the law is stated.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would have treated any defendant in the same manner regardless of who they are. I have nothing else to say,\u201d the juror added.<\/p>\n
