After 20 years, Glenn Howerton<\/strong><\/a> is finally weighing in on the It\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia<\/em><\/a> fan theory that his character, Dennis Reynolds, is a serial killer.<\/p>\n

\u201cLook, I don\u2019t want to answer that question definitively, but I don\u2019t think he is,\u201d Howerton, 49, exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> at the PaleyLive: It\u2019s Always Sunny in Philadelphia 20th Anniversary Celebration on Tuesday, July 1. \u201cIn my mind he\u2019s not. In my mind he\u2019s just delusional.\u201d<\/p>\n

The actor explained, \u201c[He\u2019s] so afraid of not being in control that he\u2019s willing to do whatever it takes to be in control of any situation more than that he\u2019s an actual serial killer.\u201d<\/p>\n

Howerton has been playing Dennis since the show\u2019s premiere in 2005<\/a> and throughout its 16 seasons, he\u2019s raised several red flags with his actions.<\/p>\n

Fans, therefore, have theorized that Dennis is a secret serial killer for saying things like<\/a>, \u201cWe\u2019re going to follow our victim then we\u2019re going to jump her. Then I\u2019m going to strangle her and you\u2019re going to chop her into pieces\u201d while getting into the mind of a killer during season 3\u2019s \u201cMac Is a Serial Killer.\u201d<\/p>\n

During season 7\u2019s \u201cThe High School Reunion Part 2: The Gang\u2019s Revenge,\u201d Dennis confessed that he randomly keeps \u201cduct tape, zip ties and gloves\u201d in his truck, raising eyebrows.<\/p>\n

The following season, Dennis assumed the identity of Brian LeFevre after the gang finds his wallet at Paddy\u2019s Pub. It is later revealed that LeFevre was murdered in the alley, and Dennis could have done it. (Dennis isn\u2019t convicted and the murderer remains unknown.)<\/p>\n

Dennis being an undercover serial killer is one of the longest-running jokes and theories surrounding the comedy show, continuing even to this day. During season 11, Dennis makes a clay sculpture he describes as \u201ca woman\u2019s head in a freezer, and it\u2019s supposed to represent the preservation of love forever and ever.\u201d<\/p>\n

The first season debuted in 2022 and centered around Evan Peters\u2018 portrayal of Jeffrey Dahmer. Monster, which also starred Niecy Nash, came under fire after the family of Dahmer\u2019s victims revealed they weren\u2019t consulted for [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

During season 12, Dennis is the prime suspect when a cat woman named Maureen Ponderosa is found dead in an alley. \u201cMaking Dennis Reynolds a Murderer\u201d is filmed a la true crime style and feeds into viewers\u2019 long-held belief that he has what it takes to kill.<\/p>\n

While Howerton played down Dennis\u2019 suspicious activity<\/a> and how it could point to serial killer tendencies on Tuesday, he was more open about some of his favorite moments from the show over the past two decades.<\/p>\n

He told Us<\/em> at the Los Angeles event that his \u201cfavorite\u201d rant by Dennis is from season 5 when the crew is going up against college kids.<\/p>\n
