Judge Arun Subramanian<\/strong> has made a ruling regarding Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs<\/span><\/a><\/strong>\u2019 immediate future behind bars.<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, July 2, Subramanian announced that the disgraced music mogul should remain in custody while awaiting sentencing, NBC News<\/span><\/a> reported.<\/p>\n

Before the ruling was made, both the prosecutors and defense attorneys each stated their case for why Diddy should or should not remain behind bars until sentencing. (Cassie<\/strong>\u2019s lawyer and the prosecution both asked the<\/a> judge to deny bail.)<\/p>\n

The decision comes after Diddy, 55, was acquitted<\/span><\/a> on racketeering and sex trafficking charges. He was, however, found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. (Diddy pleaded not guilty<\/span><\/a> to all charges brought against him after his September 2024 arrest<\/span><\/a> in New York City and has denied all of the allegations.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tSean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs faces a possible prison sentence of up to 20 years after he was found guilty on two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. Each count carries a sentence of a maximum of 10 years in prison. After Diddy, 55, was found guilty of both counts on Wednesday, July 2, the prosecution [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Each transportation charge carries a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. The prosecution previously asked that Diddy serve any potential sentence consecutively, meaning he may face a maximum of 20 years in prison. (Diddy\u2019s sentencing date has yet to be announced.)<\/p>\n

The 12-person jury \u2014 consisting of eight men and four women \u2014 began their deliberations<\/span><\/a> on Monday, June 30, in regards to Diddy\u2019s highly publicized sex trafficking trial.<\/p>\n

While the jury reached a verdict on four of the five counts on Tuesday, July 1, they remained deadlocked on the racketeering conspiracy charge. After receiving additional instructions from the judge, they briefly continued deliberating on Wednesday before reaching a verdict on all counts.<\/p>\n

After the verdicts were read, Diddy\u2019s attorney Marc Agnifilo<\/strong> asked for the immediate release of the rapper so he could be allowed to return to his Miami Beach home on Star Island.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis family is here and could sign a bond,\u201d Agnifilo told the judge. \u201cHe should be released today.\u201d<\/p>\n

When Subramanian asked, \u201cAre you proposing he just walk outside now?\u201d Agnifilo replied, \u201cYes.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is no longer charged with sex trafficking or racketeering,\u201d the defense attorney added. \u201cHis plane has been chartered \u2014 it is in Maui. He does not have access to his plane. This is his first conviction, and it is a prostitution offense. He should be released.\u201d<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tLegal experts questioned whether Sean \u201cDiddy\u201d Combs would be found guilty of racketeering weeks before his partial acquittal. \u201cBased upon Cassie\u2019s testimony, we don\u2019t really see the elements of the racketeering,\u201d criminal attorney Joshua Ritter, who is not affiliated with the case, exclusively told Us Weekly in a cover story published in June. \u201c[That] would [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Agnifilo requested a $1 million bond, which would allow Diddy to travel to New York, Los Angeles and Florida.<\/p>\n
