Bachelor Nation<\/a> alum Madison \u201cMadi\u201d Prewett<\/strong> shared her past struggles with pornography and masturbation during a candid 2025 podcast episode.<\/p>\n

Madi, who finished as runner-up on Peter Weber<\/strong>\u2019s season of The Bachelor<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in 2020, married Grant Troutt<\/strong>, a pastor, in July 2022. The couple welcomed their first baby, daughter Hosanna Rose, in January 2025.<\/p>\n

Prior to her Bachelor<\/em> season and subsequent marriage, Madi made the decision to pursue a \u201clife of purity\u201d after struggling to \u201cbreak free from porn and masturbation\u201d as a teenager.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnytime you live in secret, it\u2019s only going to create more sin and it\u2019s only going to create more shame because that\u2019s where the enemy thrives,\u201d she told listeners of her \u201cStay True\u201d podcast<\/a> in June 2025.<\/p>\n

Hannah Brown, for her part, made headlines after she revealed she had sex with one of her final four during the fantasy suite [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u2018A Life of Bondage\u2019<\/h3>\n

On an episode of her \u201cStay True\u201d podcast in June 2025, Madi divulged how she grappled with the morality of porn and masturbation<\/a> during middle and high school.<\/p>\n

\u201cThankfully, by the grace of God and by the power of godly community and people around me, I have been free from porn and masturbation for \u2014 I don\u2019t even know \u2014 10 years,\u201d she said. \u201cBut that was something that enslaved me and marked me for so long. \u2026 No matter how much I loved Jesus, I could not shake that sin. I could not break free from porn and masturbation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madi looked back on being influenced by music and TV shows about \u201chaving sex and hooking up\u201d for the first time as a 13-year-old.<\/p>\n

\u201cI had already had moments of being curious about things and having certain feelings or wondering certain things or fantasizing about certain things. I had not told that to anyone,\u201d she said. \u201cI had not pursued to do anything about that, but I was curious, and I was about 13 years old. I went over to a friend\u2019s house and her parents weren\u2019t around and she turned on this show that was extremely inappropriate.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madi remembered \u201cfeeling things that I had never felt before,\u201d especially the feeling of \u201cdesire.\u201d From there, Madi said she started seeking out porn, yet she rationalized it to herself because she wasn\u2019t actually \u201chaving sex with [her] boyfriend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThat was where I fell. I struggled and I believed that lie. That lie led to a life of bondage,\u201d Madi stressed.<\/p>\n

\u2018Gray Areas\u2019<\/h3>\n

Madi told podcast listeners that her parents\u2019 primary rule was \u201cdo not have sex,\u201d<\/a> though she knew very little else about sexuality at the time.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe question marks [were] around everything else,\u201d she explained. \u201cWhat about all the other stuff? What about porn and what about just crossing a little bit of lines with your boyfriend? That\u2019s where I didn\u2019t have clarity. Those were the gray areas of this whole purity thing that I was not clear on, that I was not certain about. Because of that I found myself continuing to push boundaries and continuing to go further than I knew deep down in my heart that I wanted to go or that I knew I should go.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018Living in Isolation\u2019<\/h3>\n

During her podcast about sexuality, Madi reflected on living in total isolation because she never told anyone about her interest in porn and masturbation.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnytime you live in secret, it\u2019s only going to create more sin and it\u2019s only going to create more shame because that\u2019s where the enemy thrives,\u201d she argued. \u201cI was not able to break free until I brought other people into it, until I stopped letting the enemy run my life with living in secrecy and living in isolation.\u201d<\/p>\n

Madi confessed that her solitary lifestyle as a teenager was \u201cso hard for [her] for so long\u201d since she felt as if she\u2019d been \u201crobbed of confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI would beat myself up and I would be bound by shame because I knew I loved Jesus and I wanted to live a life for Jesus, but I didn\u2019t know how to get unstuck. I didn\u2019t know how to break free from that sin,\u201d she noted. \u201cI questioned my worth and my identity. Every time I gave into sexual sin, I didn\u2019t know my purpose.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018A Life of Purity\u2019<\/h3>\n

Madi used her confessional podcast to disclose that her husband, Grant, came to their relationship with a completely different attitude towards sex<\/a>. (Grant is the son of telecommunications executive Kenny Troutt<\/strong>, who has ranked on Forbes<\/em>\u2019 list of the world\u2019s richest people<\/a> in the past.)<\/p>\n

\u201cGrant fell into the other category [than me] that kinda felt like, \u2018Well, I already had sex, what\u2019s the big deal? It\u2019s already a part of my story. It\u2019s already a part of my life,\u2019\u201d Madi explained to listeners. \u201cSo that continued to be something he struggled with. He continued to have sex with people.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Bachelor Nation alum insisted that it was only after Grant agreed to live \u201ca life of purity\u201d that their belief systems started to align.<\/p>\n

\u2018A Radical Transformation\u2019<\/h3>\n

Madi described how Grant underwent a \u201cradical transformation\u201d in his belief system once he let go of his past.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe started bringing accountability in his life and he chose to pursue a lifestyle of purity,\u201d she said on her podcast. \u201cHe wasn\u2019t perfect. Did he have moments of falling short? He did.\u201d<\/p>\n

The reality star confirmed that Grant\u2019s choice to \u201cpursue purity\u201d allowed the two of them to move forward with an engagement.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe were able to then, at the altar, when we gave ourselves to each other and to God, body, soul and spirit, we had such a joy and such a peace because we knew that was something we had pursued individually and together,\u201d she noted.<\/p>\n

\u2018God Can Use The Bachelor\u2019<\/h3>\n

Madi was studying to be a pastor when she auditioned for The Bachelor<\/em> season 24. She made it onto the ABC show and ultimately finished as runner-up, when Peter proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss<\/strong>. (Peter and Hannah Ann split following the March 2020 finale because he admitted to still having feelings for Madi. Peter and Madi briefly reunited but eventually decided not to pursue a relationship together.)<\/p>\n

Madi told The Christian Post<\/em><\/a> in September 2021 that she joined The Bachelor<\/em> in hopes of encouraging other Christians to expand their horizons.<\/p>\n

\u201cNot only did I feel like I learned so much and I grew so much, but really just for everyone that God spoke to and encouraged through that, it was one of the coolest things to be able to say, \u2018God can use someone like me, God can use something like The Bachelor to bring glory to his name because that\u2019s just how big he is,\u2019\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

A \u2018Modern Esther\u2019<\/h3>\n

Madi referenced the biblical story of Esther to describe what it meant to share her faith on The Bachelor<\/em>. (In the Bible, Esther was a Jewish woman who rose to become queen of Persia and used her power to save her people from persecution.)<\/p>\n

\u201cI want people to understand that just like Esther \u2014 she had to break free from her past, she had to overcome labels, she had to stand in courage even when she was probably so afraid,\u201d she told The Christian Post<\/em>. \u201cShe had to go against the grain even though it may have cost her everything. I want to see modern Esthers in today\u2019s world rise up and say, \u2018This is who I am, not who you tell me who I am. This is who I am because this is who god says I am. And I\u2019m going to walk in confidence. I\u2019m going to walk in conviction; I\u2019m going to walk in courage.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018The Male Brain\u2019<\/h3>\n

Madi and Grant were married in October 2022. Madi then exclusively told Us Weekly<\/em> in April 2023 that moving in with Grant<\/a> created some unexpected challenges.<\/p>\n

\u201cI didn\u2019t have brothers, so I\u2019m just learning the male brain,\u201d she joked. \u201cI\u2019m like, \u2018Wait, this is how you think this is? This is what goes through your mind?\u2019 Honestly, in general, just being around a male [is new] \u2014 I\u2019m just so used to being around females all the time.\u201d<\/p>\n

She went on, \u201cI lived with my best friend right before this for two years and then living with my sisters. That\u2019s just been fun, getting to know how different a man\u2019s and woman\u2019s brain is and just our different expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u2018How to Communicate\u2019<\/h3>\n

While chatting with Us<\/em> in 2023, Madi acknowledged having to overcome some communication problems in the early days of her marriage.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think within the first month, I wasn\u2019t the best at learning how to communicate my expectations, and so I would just have these expectations and he\u2019s like, \u2018Well, you never told me!\u2019 And I\u2019m like, \u2018Well, that\u2019s a good point,\u2019\u201d she said. \u201cWe\u2019re just learning how to communicate, you know, [our] wants, needs, expectations.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Greatest Gift<\/h3>\n

As the couple neared the four-month anniversary of their wedding in April 2023, Madi suggested that the newlyweds were \u201cgrowing and learning so much\u201d each day.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe is truly my best friend in the whole world,\u201d Madi shared with Us<\/em>. \u201cI mean, we\u2019re four and a half months in, and so we\u2019re obviously still learning so much. But we\u2019re so grateful that we have such a good community around us. We have mentors and people we look up to that we\u2019re constantly just asking questions, you know, and asking them to pray for us and encourage us. And so we\u2019re really grateful to have good people around us too as we\u2019re learning and growing in our own marriage.\u201d<\/p>\n
