Suzanne Somers<\/strong><\/a>\u2018 widower Alan Hamel<\/strong><\/a> has found love again with one of the late actress\u2019 former co-stars.<\/p>\n Earlier this week, the 88-year-old producer, who was married to Suzanne<\/strong> from 1977 until her death <\/a>in 2023, was photographed<\/a> walking arm-in-arm with actress Joanna Cassidy<\/strong><\/a> during a day out in Malibu, Calif.<\/p>\n If you didn\u2019t know, Suzanne<\/strong> and Joanna<\/strong>, 79, starred together in the 1985 miniseries Hollywood Wives<\/em>.<\/p>\n In a new interview published on Wednesday, June 25, Alan<\/strong> confirmed that he and Joanna<\/strong> are in fact dating.<\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span>\u201cI don\u2019t know where this relationship is going,\u201d Alan <\/strong>told Page Six<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n \u201cI have known Joanna Cassidy for over 45 years,\u201d he continued. \u201cJoanna was a guest star on [daytime talk show] The Alan Hamel Show<\/em> in Canada in the \u201970s. She was a great guest and it was a dynamic show, and we liked each other, not romantically, but mainly with respect. Both of us were married at the time.\u201d<\/p>\n They then crossed paths again in the \u201980s when Joanna<\/strong> worked with Suzanne<\/strong> on the miniseries.<\/p>\n \u201cI ran into her in the mid-\u201980s many times during the production of Jackie Collins\u2019 Hollywood Wives<\/em>,\u201d Alan<\/strong> recalled. \u201cIt was very cordial.\u201d<\/p>\n As for how they reconnected, Alan <\/strong>said that his son Stephen<\/strong> played matchmaker.<\/p>\n \u201cMy son met Joanna at a screening and after a long conversation suggested to Joanna that she and me would get along and should meet,\u201d he shared. \u201cStephen did not know we knew each other.\u201d <\/p>\n Suzanne<\/strong> died of cancer in October 2023<\/a>, just one day before her 77th birthday.<\/p>\n Also in the interview, Alan<\/strong> said that in her final days, Suzanne<\/strong> encouraged him to move on from her.<\/p>\n \u201cDon\u2019t mope around,\u201d Alan<\/strong> recalled Suzanne<\/strong> telling him. \u201cLive your life. We will see one another after you cross over.\u201d<\/p>\n While he isn\u2019t sure where their relationship will go, Alan<\/strong> sang his praises for Joanna<\/strong>.<\/p>\n \u201cJoanna is extremely accomplished,\u201d he gushed. \u201cShe is easily the hardest-working and most active actress in Hollywood for well over 50 years. She\u2019s a great mother to her adult children, turns up for many fundraisers for first responders and is staff for her four cats. She is no Hollywood BS, and we laugh a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n Alan<\/strong> continued, \u201cI\u2019m fortunate to have Joanna in my life. Most men would love to have a Joanna in their life. I do not know where this relationship is going, but what I do know is that being in the cocktail hour of my life, I am blessed with a magnificent family \u2014 thanks to incredible Suzanne \u2014 a privileged life, and our business that we created 50 years ago.\u201d<\/p>\n Shortly after her death, Alan<\/strong> explained why Suzanne<\/strong> was buried in Timberland<\/em> boots<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
