Darren Star<\/strong><\/a> has created some pretty iconic TV shows over the years. <\/p>\n From Beverly Hills, 9021<\/em> to Sex and the City<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, Grosse Pointe<\/em> and the most recent Emily In Paris<\/strong><\/a><\/em>. <\/p>\n Prior to Emily in Paris<\/em>, Darren<\/strong> also had the TV Land hit Younger<\/strong><\/a><\/em>, which starred Sutton Foster<\/strong><\/a>, Peter Hermann<\/strong><\/a>, Hilary Duff<\/strong><\/a>, Debi Mazar<\/strong><\/a>, Miriam Shor<\/strong><\/a>, Nico Tortorella<\/strong><\/a> and more. <\/p>\n In a recent interview, Darren<\/strong> opened up about the streaming success of Younger<\/em> on Netflix, and if he would return for a revival if asked. <\/p>\n Keep reading to find out more\u2026<\/em><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWhen I was doing Younger<\/em>, it was made to be bingeable, every episode sort of had a cliffhanger. I thought, Oh, this could get on streaming, it\u2019s going to feel very streamable and bingeable,\u201d Darren<\/strong> told Deadline<\/a><\/em>. \u201cSo I was hoping but you never know \u2014 I mean, my dream was to see the show get acquired by Netflix, and it was wonderful when it happened. I wasn\u2019t sure, I could imagine how well it would do, but I just wanted it to have an opportunity to be seen, exposed to a wider audience.\u201d<\/p>\n He touched on the show being on Hulu vs Netflix. <\/p>\n \u201cI just feel like people weren\u2019t finding it on Hulu,\u201d he said. \u201cIt does speak to the power of Netflix and the algorithm, I guess, I really don\u2019t know why it didn\u2019t. People didn\u2019t have an awareness, I remember it being on Hulu, and even I would have a hard time finding it. On Netflix, it was on my homepage.\u201d<\/p>\n After it debuted on Netflix and became quite popular, Darren<\/strong> notes it was a \u201cwonderful validation\u201d of what he always thought the show could be. <\/p>\n \u201cI hear about it, out in the world, there\u2019s so much conversation around it,\u201d he shared. \u201cOnce it landed on Netflix, it did sort of blow up among the majority of the audience, which is the majority of people out there that hadn\u2019t seen it or were aware of it; they just assumed it was a new series.\u201d<\/p>\n Darren<\/strong>\u2018s current show, Emily In Paris<\/em>, is set up at Netflix show, but produced by MTV Entertainment Studios, which also produced Younger<\/em>. If Netflix opted for a revival (\u201cthey haven\u2019t approached me about it yet\u201d) would Darren<\/strong> return? <\/p>\n \u201cI would do some sort of revival,\u201d Darren<\/strong> told Deadline<\/em>. \u201cIt\u2019s something I would be very excited to pursue, and just in these conversations I\u2019ve had with the cast, it\u2019s something they would be excited to do if the timing was right for everyone.
