Justin Baldoni<\/strong><\/a> has opted not to refile claims in his countersuit against Blake Lively<\/strong><\/a> and Ryan Reynolds<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

The news comes weeks after Judge Lewis J. Liman<\/strong> dismissed Baldoni\u2019s $400 million lawsuit<\/a> against Lively, 37, and Reynolds, 48. Baldoni\u2019s countersuit came after Lively accused her It Ends With Us<\/em><\/a> costar and director, 41, of sexual harassment, creating a hostile work environment and creating a smear campaign against her following their work on the 2024 film.<\/p>\n

The judge noted at the time that Baldoni could still amend his claims for breach of implied covenant and tortious interference with contract in regard to Lively but had to do so by Monday, June 23.<\/p>\n

Baldoni\u2019s attorney Bryan Freedman<\/strong> revealed to People<\/em><\/a> on Tuesday, June 24, that the actor and director will forgo the option to submit any amendments. Instead, Baldoni will focus on his and Lively\u2019s upcoming trial surrounding her December 2024 lawsuit against him for his alleged misconduct<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tJustin Baldoni isn\u2019t backing down from his legal battle with It Ends With Us costar Blake Lively after his lawsuit against her and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, was dismissed. \u201cMs. Lively and her team\u2019s predictable declaration of victory is false, so let us be clear about the latest ruling,\u201d Baldoni\u2019s attorney Bryan Freedman told Us [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThe Court\u2019s decision on the motion to dismiss has no effect whatsoever on the truth that there was no harassment nor any smear campaign, and it does not in any way affect our vigorous defense against Ms. Lively\u2019s claims,\u201d Freedman said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The attorney continued: \u201cDiscovery is proceeding and we are confident that we will prevail against these factually baseless accusations. Instead of revising the existing claims, our clients will be pursuing additional legal options that are available to us.\u201d<\/p>\n

A spokesperson for Lively responded to legal update, telling Us Weekly<\/em> in a statement on Tuesday, \u201cThe Court dismissed the frivolous $400 million Baldoni-Wayfarer lawsuit in its entirety. In the days that followed, Baldoni\u2019s lawyer said the judge\u2019s decision to dismiss their case was not a big deal as they promised to amend and refile it. As per usual, that was not true. The Court\u2019s dismissal of Baldoni\u2019s sham lawsuit was a total victory after all.\u201d<\/p>\n

Additionally, a source close to the matter told Us<\/em>, \u201cFirst it wasn\u2019t over when the judge dismissed their lawsuit in entirety because Bryan Freedman promised they will amend and refile \u2014 and now it\u2019s not over cause they are pursuing other legal options. At some point even their own supporters have to realize they are being led astray.\u201d<\/p>\n

Months after It Ends With Us<\/em> hit theaters in August 2024, Lively, who was also a producer on the film, accused Baldoni of sexual harassment<\/a>, creating a hostile work environment and orchestrating an alleged smear campaign against her in a lawsuit filed that December.<\/p>\n

Baldoni denied all allegations against him and filed a countersuit that same month in which he accused Lively, Reynolds and publicist Leslie Sloane<\/strong> of extortion, defamation and more. (Lively and Reynolds denied the claims as did Sloane.)<\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tUPDATE 5\/14\/25 at 6:57 p.m.\u00a0\u2014 Blake Lively\u2019s legal team filed a new motion to request that Justin Baldoni\u2019s claims about her friend Taylor Swift be stricken from the record, Us Weekly can confirm. In the letter obtained by Us, Lively\u2019s team noted that Baldoni\u2019s letter was filed without \u201cevidentiary support of any kind.\u201d \u201cIt should [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Baldoni also filed a $250 million libel lawsuit against The New York Times<\/em> for its coverage of Lively\u2019s initial complaint against him.<\/p>\n

Judge Liman dismissed Baldoni\u2019s lawsuit<\/a> against Lively, Reynolds and Sloane on June 9. He also dismissed the case against The New York Times<\/em>.<\/p>\n

This case is about false accusations of sexual harassment and retaliation and a nonexistent smear campaign, which Ms. Lively\u2019s own team conveniently describes as \u2018untraceable\u2019 because they cannot prove what never happened.\u201d<\/p>\n

He alleged, \u201cMost importantly, Ms. Lively\u2019s own claims are no truer today than they were yesterday, and with the facts on our side, we march forward with the same confidence that we had when Ms. Lively and her cohorts initiated this battle and look forward to her forthcoming deposition, which I will be taking. Lively\u2019s lawyers, meanwhile, were thrilled with the result<\/a>, telling Us<\/em> in a statement, \u201cToday\u2019s opinion is a total victory and a complete vindication for Blake Lively, along with those that Justin Baldoni and the Wayfarer Parties dragged into their retaliatory lawsuit, including Ryan Reynolds, Leslie Sloane and The New York Times<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

Attorneys Esra Hudson<\/strong> and Mike Gottlieb<\/strong> continued: \u201cAs we have said from day one, this \u2018$400 million\u2019 lawsuit was a sham, and the Court saw right through it. While Lively\u2019s team was pleased with the judge\u2019s ruling, they continued to fight for Taylor Swift<\/strong>\u2019s communication<\/a> with the actress to be protected from being used in the main trial. (Swift\u2019s song \u201cMy Tears Ricochet\u201d was used in It Ends With Us<\/em>, but Swift didn\u2019t have any role in production. She was initially subpoenaed by Baldoni\u2019s team but the court order was later dismissed.)<\/p>\n

Liman denied Lively\u2019s motion<\/a> for a protective order of Swift\u2019s exchanges, texts with Lively, stating that Baldoni\u2019s team has a right to see them \u2014 but only in regard to the film.<\/p>\n
