It&#8217;s usually 3% to 5% \u2014 likely much lower than the APR you&#8217;re already paying, since the current <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalreserve.gov\/releases\/g19\/current\/\" rel=\"noopener\" target=\"_blank\">average credit card APR is over 20%<\/a>. Still, you should factor in that fee if considering a balance transfer to pay off your credit card debt.<\/p>\n<h3>Strict terms and conditions<\/h3>\n<p>Be sure to read your card&#8217;s terms and conditions. For instance, some cards only apply the 0% APR offer to new purchases and don&#8217;t extend it to balance transfers. Also, most of them will cut your 0% APR period short if you have a late payment. With deferred interest, your credit card will still accrue interest during the deferred interest period.
