2025 US Open champion J.J. Spaun<\/strong> has had his wife, Melody Spaun<\/strong>, by his side throughout the highs and lows of his professional golfing career.<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple \u2014 who got married in July 2019 \u2014 experienced a major high when Melody was on hand to see J.J. win his first major championship at the US Open at Pennsylvania\u2019s Oakmont Country Club in June 2025.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

While some golf fans raised an eyebrow at the way Melody and J.J. interacted<\/a> after the tournament, Melody had nothing but praise for her husband while basking in the aftermath of his victory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHonestly, I feel like he\u2019s always been the underdog,\u201d Melody told the PGA Tour<\/a> while standing on the 18th green. \u201cI feel like the underdog finally got his day. He\u2019s finally proved himself. He\u2019s one of the most humble people I know. I just feel like he\u2019s finally gained his confidence and now it\u2019s showing. He finally feels like he belongs here and he\u2019s proving it to everyone.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Melody added, \u201cTo see him here now, he deserves everything.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

J.J. and Melody started dating, which he humorously recalled in a 2023 interview with Golf.com<\/i><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI was like, \u2018Yeah, I\u2019m a pro golfer.\u2019 Because I thought I was cool,\u201d J.J. said of their first date. \u201cBut she\u2019s like, \u2018I don\u2019t even know. What does that mean? Like, does that mean you\u2019re like rich or something?\u2019 I was like, \u2018No.\u2019 And she\u2019s like, \u2018I don\u2019t really care.\u2019 And I was like, \u2018Alright.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

J.J. added, \u201cWe went mini-golfing or something. She\u2019s like, \u2018This is lame.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The couple first appeared on social media together in June 2013, when J.J. shared a picture via Instagram<\/a> from a trip to the Orange County Fair in Costa Mesa, California.<\/p>\n

Weeks after their engagement, J.J. gushed about Melody on Valentine\u2019s Day.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHappy Valentine\u2019s Day to my laundrywoman, barista, travel agent, #1 supporter, and fianc\u00e9e,\u201d he wrote via Instagram<\/a>. \u201cLife would be too hard without you! \ud83d\ude18\u201d<\/p>\n

He shared a photo of the pregnancy announcement, which included an ultrasound picture.<\/p>\n

The couple\u2019s first baby, daughter Emerson<\/strong>, arrived on schedule<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

J.J. and Melody welcomed their second daughter, Violet, just days before he played in the Travelers Championship.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c[Melody] was the one who said, \u2018If the baby comes Monday, would you consider going?\u2019\u201d J.J. said at the time<\/a>. \u201c\u2018I would allow you to go, but I kind of don\u2019t want you to go. But if you can make it worth your while there, then I\u2019m OK with you going.\u2019\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\n\t\t\tIn addition to forever being known as a US Open champion, the golfer who wins the 2025 tournament will take home a very hefty paycheck.\u00a0 The victor of the 2025 US Open at Pennsylvania\u2019s Oakmont Country Club, which concludes on Sunday, June 15, will walk away with $4.3 million.\u00a0 The overall purse of the tournament [\u2026]\t\t<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

He added, \u201cWe decided Tuesday morning. We waited to see if the tests were all good and they would be discharged within 24 hours. If I would have stayed [at the hospital] Tuesday night, too, no way I would have even tried to come.\u201d<\/p>\n

After Violet was born on Monday, J.J. teed off at the Travelers Championship on Thursday afternoon.<\/p>\n
