The 53-year-old actor had been married to Bridget Jones star Isla, 49, – with whom he has Olive,17, Elula,14 and 10-year-old Montgomery – for just over 14 years when they announced their plans to divorce in April 2025 and on Friday (13.06.25), they spoke of their “commitment to co-parenting” now that all legal details have been taken care of. <\/p>\n
In a joint statement to Instagram, the former Hollywood couple said: “Our divorce has now been finalised. We are proud of all we’ve achieved together and, continuing our great respect for each other, we remain friends and committed to co-parenting our wonderful children.<\/p>\n
“We ask for the media to continue to respect our children’s privacy.”<\/p>\n
Isla previously called her divorce the “most difficult thing” she’s been through, but insisted at the time that she and the Borat star remained focused on their kids.<\/p>\n
\nShe told The Sunday Times newspaper: “I\u2019ve learned so much about myself in the process. I never imagined my family being separated, but we are committed and loving parents …<\/p>\n
\n“Kids are the most important thing, and you want them to really feel safe and loved. We are building a new, healthy version of what our family looks like and putting as much care and love into it as possible.”<\/p>\n
\nIsla also credited her friends with playing a crucial role in helping her to navigate the situation.<\/p>\n
\nThe actress explained: “The women in my life have held me \u2026 the female relationships that I cultivated in our business, those women have been there for me. I\u2019m actually going to get emotional.<\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019m sitting here today because of them. I\u2019ve learned so much about the power of female friendship and I\u2019ve just learned that I do have resilience, who I am outside of a partnership, and what my values are. It\u2019s been this expansive learning curve.”<\/p>\n
\nWhen Sacha and Isla decided to tell the world that they were to divorce, they revealed that they had come to the conclusion a year earlier that there marriage would not continue and they had been “quietly working through” the whole thing.<\/p>\n
\nIn a joint statement, they said: “After a long tennis match lasting over twenty years, we are finally putting our racquets down.<\/p>\n
\n“In 2023 we jointly filed to end our marriage. We have always prioritized our privacy, and have been quietly working through this change.”<\/p>\n
