The Levitating singer’s fans spotted she was wearing a diamond ring on her wedding finger in an Instagram post on Christmas Eve (24.12.24), and she’s now confirmed the 35-year-old actor popped the question with a custom piece of jewellery he had made with the advice of her sister Rina and her best friends.<\/p>\n
Dua told the new issue of Britain’s Vogue magazine: “Yeah, we\u2019re engaged. It\u2019s very exciting.”<\/p>\n
Of her ring, she added: \u201cI\u2019m obsessed with it. It\u2019s so me. It\u2019s nice to know the person that you\u2019re going to spend the rest of your life with knows you very well.\u201d<\/p>\n
However, the couple – who began dating in January 2024 – have yet to set a wedding date because of their busy work schedules.<\/p>\n
\nDua, 29, said: \u201cI want to finish my tour, Callum\u2019s shooting, so we\u2019re just enjoying this period. <\/p>\n
\n“I\u2019ve never been someone who\u2019s really thought about a wedding, or dreamt about what kind of bride I would be.<\/p>\n
\n“All of a sudden I\u2019m like: \u2018Oh, what would I wear?\u2019\u201d <\/p>\n
\nAlthough Dua has seen people get engaged in the past, she had “never really understood the weight of it\u201d but now she thinks committing to another person is “special”.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: \u201cThis decision to grow old together, to see a life and just, I don\u2019t know, be best friends forever \u2013 it\u2019s a really special feeling.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nThe Dance the Night Away hitmaker is keen to have a family of her own but admitted she doesn’t know when would be a “good time” because of the demands of her pop career.<\/p>\n
\nShe said: “I\u2019d love to have kids one day. But it\u2019s like the constant question of when would there ever be a good time \u2013 how it would fit in with my job and how it would work if I went on tour, and how much time out I\u2019d have to take.<\/p>\n
\n“I think it\u2019s just one of those things that\u2019s going to happen when it happens. I love kids, but I think there\u2019s so much more to raising a child than just loving children.\u201d<\/p>\n
\nDua and Callum had “many Sliding Doors moments”, where they were in the same place at the same time without realising, before being introduced to one another at the River Cafe in London.<\/p>\n
\nA year later, she was having dinner in Los Angeles with her friend Mustafa the Poet when “all of a sudden” Callum appeared.<\/p>\n
\nShe thought: \u201cOh, it\u2019s that really hot guy from The River Cafe.\u201d <\/p>\n
\nDuring their conversation, the pair realised they both “just happened to be reading” Hernan Diaz’s novel Trust.<\/p>\n
\nAsked if she feels they were destined to be together, she replied: \u201cOne thousand per cent.\u201d<\/p>\n
