She admitted to extortion and forced labor. All of this was part of her role as a high-ranking member of the NXIVM cult.<\/p>\n<p>She had turned state\u2019s witness against Keith Raniere, the leader of the cult. <\/p>\n<p>She had delivered multiple women to \u201cseduce\u201d him.<\/p>\n<p>These women, who had once believed that they were joining a women\u2019s empowerment multi-level-marketing group, had been branded and blackmailed and ultimately trafficked to Raniere. In 2017, she married Canadian actress Nicki Clyne.<\/p>\n<p>However, this was apparently to appease Keith Raniere, as the NXIVM leader wanted Clyne to remain in the US. She, too, was a member of the cult. Most people deserve a chance for redemption, provided that they fully stop inflicting harm on others. <\/p>\n<p>Unless anyone sees Allison Mack wielding a branding iron or whatever, she is presumably on the straight and narrow.<\/p>\n<p>But there are some things that do such harm that the perpetrators never deserve a clean slate.<\/p>\n<p>Does that apply to Mack? She was arguably both a victim <em>and <\/em>a perpetrator within NXIVM.
